Wheel sizes for boosted vert
Wheel sizes for boosted vert
I am about to get my ‘12 vert sport boosted and that means stock rims aren’t going to cut it. I would like to go to a 19x10.5x30 in the rear. Can I do this without rubbing on stock suspension? How about 11”?
I know that there are differences between the coupe and the convertible and I rarely see anyone running wider wheels on a vert.
Also interested in if people are running coil overs? Looks like BC is the only one that makes them for convertibles. Thanks!

Hey, welcome back to the forum!
There are a few people running (or did run) 10 / 10.5 / 11 wide in the back. It's not ideal, but definitely doable.
The easiest way to find these post is forum search - when you are looking at the vert section, you can search just this section from the right top menu "search this forum".
There were 3 different options for coilovers, from what I've seen, but BCs have been the most reliable. That's what I'm running, although had to step up the spring rates.

When you say "There are a few people running (or did run) 10 / 10.5 / 11 wide in the back. It's not ideal, but definitely doable." What is not ideal, but doable? What max size do you recommend F&R? I'm 6 months in to the G and I'm looking at the Nismo V1 and wondering how the 10.5 in the rears will do with the Feal Coilovers I'm getting installed in January. I appreciate your knowledge.
If you go 10+, you need to dial in your offset perfectly, whether with custom fitment or spacers. Because of the way suspension travels, 11x20 were clearing fenders without issues, but they rub on the liner at near-full compression.
Like boosttt recommended - look for FI or maybe even insta for various configurations.
