The new IPL G37S
How much of a HP gain was you guys expecting? Come on really now.. between 05-06 Gs wasnt the HP increase like 10hp? Be happy it's 18 and not 8.. even if infiniti swindled us did you really believe they would add turbos or gains would really reach 380 hp? It all repeats in a pattern.. Next gen Gs probably wont even be past 400hp we'll be luckier if it's heavier.
Ipl
If Nissan is coming out with a separate line that distinguishes it from stock, i.e. AMG, M series, and now IPL then of course the public is going to expect more than a couple in this case 18hp.
I agree with the other post saying that they should have just made this the 2011 stock G37 Sport version rather than making it IPL. If they make an IPL then they should at least match the power to the M45 nearing 500 horses.
My perspective ....

I don't think so, I think they were just going for a little different body styling and a few performance upgrades to let people keep their warranties. AMG/M/R series cars are built by tuning companies and utilize different power plants/transmissions and vastly different suspensions as well as other improvements. In case of a C63 AMG compared to the C350, there is a 20k price difference. Who would be crazy enough to buy a 60k G37 when you can go and buy well established performance oriented machines that not only drive better, but also look better. Not only that, if performance is what you are looking for, go spend 70k on a Z06 with the 3LT package and you can pretty much whomp on anything sub 250k from across the Globe, and still squeeze out 28 miles per gallon if you want to take that bad boy on a long road trip, and have it be comfortable with the new adaptive magnetic suspension they put on it off the ZR1.

Jamler: should be an easy bolt on but you would need a new/smaller windshield washer tank.
These pics look so much better than the first ones.
Could someone PS this with a drop and different style wheels?
Maybe there is hope after all.

I saw a car just like one the OP posted this morning in a parking lot. It was black with red leather interior and looked pretty much the same as a regular g37s.
The front bumper looks kinda weird to me. At the bottom, it sort of juts out rather then curving to fit the flow of the body shape as with the standard g37s. The whole body kit sticks out awkwardly, and doesnt really fit the car imo.
And around the fake vents was this tacky looking chrome trim. When i first saw it, I thought it was another g that had been modded badly by its owner until i realized that it actually mightve been the new G.
The car wasnt camo'd in anyway. no emblem covers or anything. It had standard california plates and as registered and everything.
