The new IPL G37S
#318
Its the IPL version. There will still be the normal g37 coupe. i dont know, this one just has a cheap look to it. Doesn't not seem infiniti at all and its ugly. the base g coupe should maintain the same look as 2010 I believe.

That's my quesiton. Will the 2011 G coupe 6MT still have the same wheels & front end as the 2010 model? Nobody seems to know that yet...
A guy I work with loves my car and will soon be in the market to buy one. When I showed him the pics of the 2011 IPL car, he didn't like it at all and now he's wondering if he should just buy a 2010 instead, even though he wasn't planning on buying until early next year.

expect the G37 coupes for 2011 to have different bumpers, side sills, wheels, different stitching from the photos

So where are the pics of the new wheels/body for the standard 2011 G coupe 6MT?

I agree with JohnEnglish on this completely. Think of this car as purely a test car. It is a way for Infiniti to put a toe into the water to see just how cold it really is. The anniversary coupe was a test for the IPL coupe and should people take to this IPL model (i.e.Infiniti hits sales targets), then rest assured the next generation IPL coupe will get more ponies and more attention all the way around. It doesn't really make sense to put all of your resources behind a four year old model.
I'm sure this IPL will be priced competitively with the 335is and it will sell, too. While I personally would not buy one for various reasons, I can see this being a success. From a purely cost and strategic perspective, Infiniti is being smart about this. From a prestige / brand identity perspective, we shall see in a few years.

IPL second thoughts....
After the initial shock and maybe a bit of a let down we can look at an IPL as a stepping stone towards what the enthusiast and consumers want.
It is still a great looking car just wish it had more power to compete, but at a price couple grande south of $50k its in a class of it's own. Maybe If this model sells relatively well Infiniti will be able to produce a car to compete with the $60k-$70k M's and RS4, IS-F. Hopefully superchargers are available under IPL if that is the case you have a car that is inching that much closer to where we want Infiniti to be.
Here are some better pictures of the IPL G hopefully one of the auto magazines gets to test drive these, and let us know how they are, Nonethe less this brings a bit of excitement into the Inifniti Brand. Just wish it was a bit more Exciting.
