Stillen Gen 3 Review
Stillen Gen 3 Review
First of all, I was putting off the install for a little bit because it seemed like it would take quite a bit of time to complete. I had the help of two mechanics here at work and we put it up on the lift after work. We lifted it up, removed the wheels, and underbody, wheel liners and then the bumper. This all took about 25 minutes. After that, we removed the engine cover and the plastic pieces ( old intake holes) for more space. We dry fitted the intake for fitment. The issues that we ran into is that there is basically NO room to play with the intake in regards to the piping. After we dry-fitted it, we clamped it and installed the filters. Total time at this point is about 1hr. Then we drank a few beers and began to put the bumper back on.
Total Time : 1hr 20m
Opinions: If you don't have access to a lift, I really don't know if removing the bumper and the wheels and all that jazz is really necessary, it just makes things a whole hell of a lot easier.
Shaving the intake void was not bad at all. We went around it with a dye cutter back and fourth pretty quickly. We had about a 1/16 of an inch of play on both sides that was fitted with 3m felt tape.
All and all it really wasn't that bad at all. I did have two mechanics helping me but I couldn't see it taking longer than 3 hours by yourself. The only thing is if removing/applying the bumper.
Results: The car has a deeper, throatier tone now and it definitely gave it some extra power that it needed, it actually quite noticeable. I noticed a huge difference merging in 2nd gear, I turned to look over my shoulder and gunned it and I almost broke my neck...It was pretty cool haha. I mean for $440 shipped and $0 to install, I would do it again in a heart beat. And it looks mean behind the grill! Now, on to full exhaust...

just imagine that throatier sound teamed with HFC's and a CBE!! When I had my coupe I went all stillen except I had Berk HFC's. When you team the gen 3 with the stillen headers, HFC's, and CBE it sounds INCREDIBLE!
Here's with Stillen headers, Berk HFC's, and Stillen CBE:
