Plasti dip grille and Stillen filter cleaning

This past weekend I decided to clean my air filters and save about $100 and plasti dip my grille matte black. I haven't had my g for very long and this was my first semi diy. The filters were a bit of a pain. Aside from getting the radiator shield off to be able to remove the grille, there was a big black cover over the filters (I have Stillen gen 3 intake). I used a k&n filter cleaning kit to clean them. But once removed, it was a breeze. Here's some pictures of my process.

Looks good .... doing my M this weekend and plan of doing the whole thing except the logo. Any "lessons learned" you care to pass along?

Thank you sir. Just be sure to give each layer plenty of time to dry and make sure it's nice and clean and dry before start painting it at all. Always remember it's removable. Best of luck to you

i saw something about a "black chrome" paint (forget the brand), but it had horrible reviews - didn't look right, peeled off after a short time ...

the chrome emblem does stick out like a sore thumb on the midnight grille, but i'm not really a fan of the black grille/black emblem look. i think i'm going to hit my Infiniti emblem with some black Plastidip, and then some silver metalizer to try and get a gunmetal kind of look. if i don't like it, i'll just peel it off.

something like this:

I thought overnight they would be dry enough and I DID NOT use the proper oil cleaner for the K&N sucked directly into my engine and stalled me on the highway. Dumbest most idiotic thing i ever have done to any car.
btw this was over a year ago...no issues since.
