I hope I am wrong, but it sound like rod knock.
This is where the big end (lower) part of the connecting rod has too much play and it rattles around the crankshaft.

How was the car running before it wouldn't start?
What mods does it have?

Drain the oil into a clean, open drain pan, and let some of the oil filter through a paper towel while it drains. Look for metal sparkles or pieces in the oil. If any's present, that motor is done. If not, you could try checking the flywheel bolts or torque converter bolts if you're an AT. If those bolts start to back out, they can sound a lot like rod knock too. The fact you have test pipes rules out it being converter rattle, but that definitely does not sound good.
