Upper radiator hose replacement
Hey guys, my upper radiator hose is leaking. I got both hoses replaced maybe less than 10k miles ago (2 years ago) and I believe either the hose is bad or the connection to the radiator is cracked. The leak, which is located where the upper hose connects to the radiator, started when it got cold here in the northeast.
I would prefer to not get a new radiator ( i mean if thats the only option then i guess ill do it). Im going to first try a new worm clamp but if that doesnt work my question is
-can i remove the upper radiator hose without having to drain the system?
-is there a better (material) hose to use other than oem that may fix the issue?
-any other suggesttions?
thanks

It's been a while since I've look at hoses in the car. You could siphon enough from the filler neck to drop the level below the radiator upper hose fitting. You may have to stick the siphon tube deep into the hose to reach towards the radiator. Check existing clamps? Are they still snug? Might just be a matter of tightening up.
I don't see why you can't remove the hose without draining the whole system. If you do end up opening the system, you will need to ensure there's no air in it using a burp funnel or vacuum filling.

So i actually just replaced the clamp with a typical worm clamp (that you screw to tighten) Seemed to have fixed the leak on my end. Are you still using oem clamp?
