Maelstrom, what year is your car, how many miles. What geographic region? I'm in chicago, car is going on ~3 years with under 20K. I expect the bleeder to come loose easily when I do the bleed in the spring. All the brake bleeders came undone with little drama. I suppose using the proper tool also helps. A flare nut wrench is appropriate.
I think in your case someone overtorqued the screw. These things are rated in terms of inch lb, not ft lb. Finger tight then a little more to snug it down.

I also sheared my bleeder on my stock CSC. You'll have to use a drill out/extractor to remove what is left. Presoaking with some penetrating fluid would be wise.
I didn't bother doing this, I figured I'd get my dealer to fix it during the next oil change. The CSC failed before my next oil change.

55k miles... I'm on the fence about also replacing clutch/flywheel while the tranny is dropped. This is my daily driver, so I'm not sure about the chatter and the stiffer engagement.
