GTM MHI Twin Turbo Kit Roll Call
Hey everyone. So I just did a head count and there are about 27 of us G37/370GT owners who are eagerly waiting on their GTM MHI Kits to be shipped.
I don't know how many of those 27 will actually end up paying for the kit and not just pulling out but I thought that it might be useful for everyone who is definitely taking delivery to list out exactly what setup they are going for and any extra goodies that they are adding. This may help anyone who is sitting on the fence with some of their decisions and possibly give others some ideas.
I'll go first......
Car is a 2008 Skyline 370GT SP with 5AT and has done about 40,000km (24,000 miles)
- Turn Key Kit with internal wastegates and 18G Turbo's
- Turbosmart BOV's (no vent to atmo for us Aussie's so will need to be recirc )
- GTM 25 row competition transmission cooler
- GTM 25 row competition oil cooler
- GTM 2.5" HR Test Pipes (already have Fast Intentions CBE and HFCs. HFC's will have to go)
- Transgo shift-kit is already sitting on my nightstand (pissing off the wife ).
- ECUTeck Tuning Software (fingers crossed for eventual boost and launch control)
- Still not 100% certain which gauges I want to go with. Some things can be monitored on my Nav Screen via OBDII and Android Torque App but I am still trying to decide what to do about boost and oil pressure. I want a complete stock lock so I might try to fabricate an LCD screen into the ashtray/cig lighter spot. This way it can be opened and closed if I so desire.
Anyway, I would definitely be interested to see what everyone else has decided to go for, so post-em-up.
EDIT: Power goals are somewhere in the 450-500 whp range. I want this thing to be quick but very drive-able and as stock looking as possible. I'll be looking at running 6psi as standard with the option to switch it up to 10-11psi in certain situations ie. straight roads, windy roads, traffic lights, basically any bit of road made from tarmac....
EDIT #2: removed my ramblings about a boost controller. I have ordered one of these... http://www.nengun.com/greddy/profec-oled . Should fit snugly in the ash tray/cig lighter spot and act as boost gauge.

That is indeed a useful thread. Might as well mention your power goals!

2012 IPL 9k miles
I already have the test car 16g MHI kit installed (installed at 6k miles)
- 16g twin turbos
- twin GTM intercoolers
- 2.5" fast Intentions CBE
- stock cats
- Blitz EBC boost controller w/remote
- 7AT Valve Body upgrade
- GTM Trans cooler
- GTM oil cooler
- powder coated piping
The car ran 550whp without exhaust or cats (520whp with current setup) on Dynojet
The car is in the shop again for:
- GTM stage 4 transmission
- GTM stage 1 long block
- External waste gates
- GTM powder coated windshield washer resevior
The car is waiting on the new MHI exhaust manifolds (has the previous generation manifolds that rub)
Power Goals:
550+whp daily driver that will hold strong for the long haul!

Betty....does the MHI kit not come with the HKS plugs?
**Also, great clutch setup, that is my exact setup, and it drives like stock, minus the slipping @ high boost! Also the jittery clutch that is associated with the OEM dual mass flywheel is gone, had to re-learn the launch, but pedal firmness is smooth but firm, no more feeling for that sweet spot. The light chatter when turning off with the pedal depressed is also gone.

What is your logic behind the power steering cooler? Is this a known area of weakness?
What's the retail on the carbon fiber drive shaft?
The kit doesn't come with plugs. I have heard that the OEM GTR plugs are the way to go. Far cheaper than the HKS too.
I may have just solved my gauge issues as well.
One of these ((Pre-order) Kiwi 2 Bluetooth) - or the wifi model which probably communicates more quickly.
Plus one of these (Kiwi 2 iMFD Adapter | OBD iPhone)
Plus this (PLX SM-FT | Water Oil Temperature Sensor) this (PLX SM-FP | Oil Pressure Sensor) this (PLX SM-Vac/Boost | Vacuum Boost Sensor) and one of the android apps. Bob's your mother's brother, completely stealth interior!
"Evening officer. Turbo's??? What turbo's???"
I can already control my phone via the OEM touchscreen so this should work perfectly!

Nice setup Betty! I am still considering going with an aftermarket radiator but thought that I would see how hot it runs first (Perth has similar temps to Houston but we don't have your humidity).

Shaft was $825 with steel yokes with the GB price. It's ended now and is more expensive. Don't remember how much more but it's in the GB thread for the shafts.

Betty, I do run a 34 row oil cooler and in FL humidity even in 100+ weather I dont even reach above 95 deg coolant temps. I wouldn't say the radiator is needed, but by all means it will not hurt. It's better to have and not need, than to need and not have. Good looking build.
