Did you buy one of the ADM models? I have only seen one on the road here in Perth and it was a vert. Come to think of it, it may have just been a re-badged import.....

Paid up front before our Aus $ plummeted

When I saw the AUD dropping I quickly called my broker and got it paid for before it dropped too far. Still wish that I had paid a few weeks earlier when the AUD was still worth more than the USD. I hope that any other Aussie's have already paid, they will be shocked to look at the exchange rate today!

Turn key 16G, Thinking about 18G but when do they come on boost???

I was originally going to go with the 16G but after speaking with Mike, decided to go with 18G. He said that the 18G will make a little more power and that the lag difference will be VERY minimal. Plus it leaves me the option to go for a little more power in the future if I feel like it.

Asked for recirculated dumps, not sure about BOVs, might get them plumbed back if the law starts putting pressure on us over here, we,ll see

I'm still debating whether to get the car engineered or not. I don't really want to write the car off and have my insurance company laugh at me when I make a claim. I don't think that I'd last very long before the cops reamed me with open dumps either, will probably just go recirc straight away.

Getting the EcuTek as well, being a few performance shops here in Australia tune with them. But I would prefer a stand alone unit that,ll run everything but im not sure what will do it for these G37s,

EcuTek should run everything that you need. I could be wrong but I think that SharpByCoop is running 11.1sec 1/4's with the stock ECU.
The fact that plenty of garages in Aus have been using EcuTek for years on other platforms is the main reason that I went with them over UpRev.

I was thinking about this as well. For reference,
"4psi at 2200 rpm" witih 16Gs
https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...ctane-7at.html

with 18Gs, the boost chart shows around 4psi at 3200rpm

Haven't seen this come up before:
Is anyone else going to report to their insurance companies that they are putting in 5k+ of upgrades to their car?

discuss, please.

Nope. It's not likely that a repairable accident would do significant damage to turbo parts. And if its totalled, what's the point?

Just like wheels. Unless they are extremely expensive, I wouldn't. I bought mine used for a little over $2K. Value for OEM wheels is about $800 each or so I think.

As far as I know, they won't insure parts intended for off-road use anyway if your car is supposed to be street legal.

Yep, it's a big PITA to total a boosted car.

My particular company over here will insure modifications. Not many do and if I didn't tell them and ended up in an accident then they could refuse to pay out. Obviously my premium is going to go up though....

So has anyone made any final decisions regarding gauges?

At the moment I am leaning towards either the Greddy Informeter Touch or a Greddy Multi D/A Gauge with sensors for oil pressure, oil temp and water temp. Might add EGT and possibly fuel pressure down the track.

Whats everyone else going with?

It would be a good idea for anyone who is in on this group by to check this thread for Mike's latest update!!!

And even though noone seems to care, I went with the Greddy multi D/A gauge and it arrived today
