I purchased the Safeguard from J&S Electronics. Google "J&S Electronics Safeguard" all the info on his website. John is the owner, very helpful.

The next upgrade I wanted to install was a transmission temperature gauge. The 7AT already has a trans temp sender but can only be accessed by the Consult 3 diagnostic scanner. Cipher or any other OBD2 scanner that I know of can not read the trans temp. Solution? Install a simple temp sender. But where? So much information out there as to where to install the sensor. I figured that since the OEM sensor is in the valve body put the aftermarket sensor in the oil pan. Simple solution is to get a NPT to 12MM adapter and change out to drain plug. I swapped out the plug and only lost a teaspoon of trans oil. The sensor looks like it is hanging down but unless you are going off road there there won't be any problems. The exhaust pipes are lower. I didn't want a lot of gauges all over the palce that's why I picked the glove box.

Spoke with Sam @ GTM. Should be ready for shipping in the next couple of weeks. The weather is so crappy here on the west coast all the rain not much ambition to do anything so I am not in a big hurry. Wanting to get the car already first anyways.

Sam @ GTM suggested 450 AWHP and that sounds good to me but I would like to break the 500 AWHP barrier with out "breaking" the car. Sort of a friendly grudge match with the Stillen guys on who can get the most out of with the AWD crowd. We shall see.

I'm interested to see how things go Timp, I have an X as well so I would love to the see the potential of where my car could go. I hate the transmission though my 7at is just really blah as I'm sure you know, I'm curious to feel the difference in the car with something like the VB upgrade, 900 isn't a bad price did you write up a DIY or does it come with instruction, I really thought that the 7at couldn't be serviced other than by the dealership at least thats what I was told so how did you fill it back up with fluid and that sort of thing?

I had the same wideband gauge for a while and gave me nothing but problems, hope this one works out better for you.

500awhp may hurt the stock internals a bit too much no? That's around 630 bhp. But regardless, best of luck!
