G37s 6 speed single turbo build big power

So I've been holding out on showing progress of this build because I was kicking around the idea of mass producing the kit, but it's just plain to much work to sell it cheap enough for people to buy a kit not made by gtm greddy hks ect. Anways here's my 2009 g37s 6 speed 50k miles I'm using a ball bearing billet wheel 67mm turbo from on 3 performance along with their 44 mm Wastegate. I fabricated a custom transmisson crossmember to mount the turbo and fit the air filter right on the turbo. I'm building a aluminum air box around the filter to protect from water and dirt. Here's pics so far please feel free to comment ask questions make suggestions or criticism.

From: Framingham Ma,
Never really understood these, What happens if you drive into a puddled or snow , Great work so far , Just IMO the WORST place you can put a turbo,,

Hmm...I will give you props for doing something different and on your own but that's all I'm going to say right now.

I would have loved to make a top mount turbo like S&R, or a twin setup tucked up where the factory cats were. My goal was to boost the G for as little time and money as possible. I have only around 3000$ invested in this build and I have everything I need to finish and drive the car aside from a basetune. I still need to find someone local to make me a basemap so I can street tune it. If anyone has a suggestions please let me know.

550cc injectors. 200
Osirus tuner. 600
Turbo. 680
Wastegate. 150
Bov. 80
Intercooler. 200
Aluminum pipe. 200
Stainless. 500
Savage pump. 150
Fuel pump. 85
An fittings 75
Braided line. 50
Wideband& boost. 225
Silicone couplers. 160

That being said I wanted to make the routing of the piping as simple as possible to save money on material and time. Im a college student I go back to school in september, I can't begin guess the crazy hours that went into S&R kit. My car would still be in pieces trying to feed two 2.5 pipes through a very small opening between the firewall and headers, on top of mounting the turbo in engine bay with the tight clearance all around the engine. This is why they can charge 10k for their kit, they literally made a miracle. Although id find it hard the believe their kit can be modified to accommodate a huge turbo. I can fit my neighbors s372 with a full race cover on my bracket with space to go even bigger, So I have unlimited power capabilities and that's a lot of heat to be housing in the engine bay. I'm directing all the heat out of the engine bay.

I have around 18 hours of solid labor time so far. All that's left is intercooler piping, oil pluming, and a two peice belly pan that secures to zeus fastners secured to stock bolts under car. Zeus fastener for quick access, will cost about 30$ and a sheet of aluminum not sure yet, but this will solve all problems with water and dirt and make the car even more aero dynamic and cool a little better.

This seems very similar to Sasha from BP kit. The low mid mount set up I believe. This kind of set-up has been used on hundreds of DE's.. Not sure why the haters except for haters gon' hate. Good job on your own custom setup.

How many inlet or outlet does your intercooler has? To my understanding you should have one from turbo going in and 2 going out to each throttle body. I can only see 2 on the picture unless you're planning on splitting the intake from on outlet.

Well there not the best pics but you can see the silicone 90 goes right through the cold air intake openings and the 45 brings it right to my cold air intakes that I'll be keeping for the maf housings. All I need to do is cut it back and add a 45 degree coupler. There's a 3 inch inlet on the bottom of the tank that I'll be welding a 90 degree elbow on for Clarence issues.

You have a 67mm turbo? Damn you are going to lag like a crazy, crazy, crazy person! But it's time for some BRAKE BOOSTING !!!!!

But if your going with a 67mm why don't you stick with something like a 6266 or a 6466? 67 is way to big. By the time your fully spooled your redlining like hell, or if your running against someone you've already finished the run. Plus if you have that big *** turbo and brake boosting all the time your going to waste your brakes with a quickness. I have brake fade like none other, and these 4 pot brakes arn't holding up at all. Also I would recommend all the supporting mods. Such as a aftermarket radiator, oil cooler, etc.
Oh yeah also would invest in some street radials. Helps out a lot.

Here is the link to the 6466.

MT's Street Radials (this is what I have on, and it makes a HUGE difference. TX2K difference!)
Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels

Bosch Fuel pumps. (you can read about it. They are great. Aeromotive sucks ***. It crapped out on me at high pressure. Also, the supra doods. again all this info was tested out at TX2K.) You can do external or internal. I have no idea how much power your going for.

Injector Dynamics (best in my opinion.)
Injector Dynamics - ID1000

might want to invest in some coilovers to avoid wheel hop and all that suspension jazz.

I have no idea where your located at but I would recommend to get it tuned directly at UpRev by Omar. He fixed all the ****ed up **** on my car from other places. But I don't know how the resolution tuning is with UpRev compared to Haltec and such.

I hope this helped out at least some or a tad bit. Well props to college students. I'm a biochem student and this is the only way of not going crazy with stress, for at least an hour or two. lol

I'm just a buisness major, I want to open my own shop soon. Anways there will be no spool issues, the maker of the turbo did calculations I'll make peak boost (10 psi) at around 3200 rpm. It's ball bearing billet wheel turbo, makes huge power on their mustangs and spool at 3800 rpm. This is a twin kit so only 2.5 liters are pushing each turbo.

From: Framingham Ma,
Nice again man , Especially for doing yourself, But glad some one touched on this already, What size fule pump are you running and the 600CC's?? I would have went a little bigger, I just picked up a set of Bosh EV14's( 850CC) for under $500 shipped. Pump I would hope is a Wally 255 at least.

I got the 550cc injectors drop in style for 180$ plus ship from Ohio. Ive made 500 plus whp on a walboro 255 with nismo 555cc in my 300zx. I feel like 8 psi around 500 whp will be safe on my stock engine. What kind of power are you guys running?

I'm just going to throw this out there. 67mm spooling at 3800? You sure he ain't yanking your chain and saying "it is a 67mm," when really its a dinky gt25 or some crap?

Cause a 67mm turbo spooling at 3800 is unheard of to me. I don't think that's possible at all. Maybe a compound set up, but with the way the engine criss crosses everything that's a lot more money building and figuring **** out.

Also with a 67mm your peak boost is way higher than 10PSI. People only set it at 10 for the safety measure.
Whoever your turbo maker is, he has some skills to make a big turbo not to lag AT ALL.

10psi is peak boost I'll be running on race gas, and 7 psi daily driven. The plan is to make the Wastegate open before 4000 rpm.

I finished more then half of the intercooler piping today. The oil filter relocation didn't give me as much clearance as I'd hoped, was like threading a needle but, I don't have to take off intercooler piping every time I change the oil
