At first glance on this thread, I'm like: Ouch. After reading and watching, I'm really pulling for this to turn out well. All this 'homestyle' work, done on your own, is VERY impressive.

Few people would have the fortitude to make this happen. I work with my hands all day, and guys like you are enviable.

Keep us posted.

Thanks coop its nice to get positive feedback after these long hours in the garage everyday. These cars aren't easy to work clearances are tight everywhere.

I Put the tanabe cans on today along with most of the oiling system. Car shoud be ready to start soon.

Tomorrow install fuel pump,
Finish oil system

Start car check for leaks see if I get any codes then drop in injectors over wekend and tow to tuner Monday hopefully.

Once it is all tuned and ready to rock, you should reconsider selling the kits. Might be a market here for it.

Well I had a oil pressure issue that was solved by priming the pressure feed to the turbo. Once I got oil to the turbo I found the seals were bad. I find it hard to believe the seals could have went bad idling the car for a minute with no oil pressure. It's a ball bearing turbo and it came pre oiled, I think it's a defective turbo. Going to call on 3 performance Monday.

From: Framingham Ma,
Nice to hear it started and not leaks, Do you thing the smoke was from the seals seating, I have never replaced or upgraded a turbo so not sure if you are to see smoke the first mile or so, Maybe Coop can chime in on that But awsome job man!!

So the turbo took a dump. After talking to a rep at precision and telling him the size of the restrictor he informed me that too much oil pressure caused the turbo to fail. The company I got the turbo from takes 4 to 6 weeks to repair a turbo. Im so angry at the situation I don't know what to do

So, there needed to be a small restrictor in place to calm the engine oil pressure? And whatever size it came with (or you installed) was too big? What size should it be?

Now in the first minute it blew out the seals to the point of a rebuild? Ugghhhhhh.

Can you take it apart to check?

You will have the patience for the best answer tomorrow. Give it a day.
