You either have a 2009, or a 5AT. Unless the previous owner blew up the 5AT and swapped a 7AT? Not sure how doable that is.

AKA, will any year 5AT bolt up to my 37HR motor or do they differ year to year?
Awww how cute. I didn't know anything about this car a year ago..

It would require swapping the wiring harness and ECU with a newer year which has been done with a bunch of custom tuning etc just so they could use ECUtek. Long story short, no, not really doable.

Transmission question

After reading many things, I realize that the G37 from 2008 with the 5AT is pretty sluggish, and just bad on gas mileage. Its 2012, I really do not want a 5speed.

My question is I thought all Sport models came with a 6MT, was the 2008 model made with a 6AT when equipped with the sports package?

thank you
Can I put an 09 g37 transmission 7 speed in a 2008. G37 sport to make it a 7 speed??
