1000 mile update

still pretty much the same as when I got it right after the re-flash. smooth upshifts/downshifts, lag and jerk are gone (especially on left/right turns & swiftly changing lanes in stop and go traffic, but normal AT lag is still there of course). I haven't felt the infamous clunk from 2>1 downshift since, but I"ll wait and see when the weather in so cal cools in a few months.

The only trade off that I am begrudgingly having to accept - the aggression and rev-matching has been quite a bit subdued and completely taken out of D mode. It's a much more refined car now, which I like but I guess I just got used to the crazy aggression it had for my first 16 months of ownership.

all in all, I'm happy with it and I can trust that it won't bog down when I need to floor it....

Does anybody know if 2013 M37 has any similar transmission issues?

Does any body else experience hard down shifting?

That's THE major improvement from the TSB, no more embarrassing clunky downshifts, ones that your passengers would look over at you when it occurred
So glad they're gone now!

I only noticed the harsh downshifts in the begining when I first bought the car. They eventually went away.

I got 2010 G37 vert updated for the second time in the last 2 months. It is driving better, but I am not sure if I got the latest. I noticed that some mentioned that rev matching is gone in D. Do you mean when downshifting with the paddles? Mine is definitely still doing that. But not as violent as it was doing.

I just bought an 09 G37x coupe. Unfortunately, got it from a Mazda dealership and not an Infiniti. Do you know if I can take it to an Infiniti dealership to get the update/how much will it cost? It should still be under the manufacturer warranty.

I took my car in for 15k service this past weekend and had them do the reflash since I've noticed a harsh upshift from 3>4. It has always been on and off. After the reflash, I feel better a better response but still noticing the harsh upshift from time to time. Might need them to check it again.

They applied two updates to my car; one to the ECU for the hard downshifting, and one to the TCM for the transmission lag.

Yes, primarily when using paddle shifters but will do it in DS mode also. More pronounced when cold then when warmed up and when down shifting to 4th....all other gears good
