G37 7speed transmission reprogram
I called my service Rep at Roswell infiniti in Atlanta and he said he would have to check with the lead technician. Called me back the next day and said that they were able to find the TSB in their system and can apply it . No fuss at all. Took it in and 1.5 hours later, I left with the TSB applied, oil changed and car washed. Have only driven it around 15 miles so far. I came from the the original 2009 programming and noticed a very slight reduction in lag. Not sure yet if the abrupt downshift issue is fixed.
I had 12-027A applied yesterday on my 09. Told the dealer of my issues and they said they would look into it. I mentioned the TSB number as reference and when picking up the car they were able to flash the tcm and ecm. The drive home showed to be somewhat smoother and still responsive, but still not exactly like the 2012 G37XS loaner I had, that car had very smooth shifts. I will need to drive it more to get a good feel, but it didn't do any harsh downshifts yesterday in stop and go traffic, so that is good.

I purchased the one day subscription on the infiniti tech info site because I wanted to have the actual new TSB to see if it specifically lists the 2009's on it, and it does. This is what I wanted in hand when I go to the dealer next week. We'll see how it goes.

Some Thoughts for 09'ers
After a lot of research and multiple trips to the dealer I have the following info.
This is specifically for 09's (Mine is an 09Xs 4D ).
If you look at ITB10-075, there is a note:
"The ECM reprogramming used for this bulletin is also used for another issue and may have already been performed on your vehicle"
This previous bulletin is ITB09-028.
So on Jun 15 they did a TCM only update to my car. On Jun26th I went to another dealer and they did an ECM only update because the ITB10-075 update was on my TCU.Had I not done ITB10-075 for my TCU ,it would have been applicable under the current update.
For dealers claiming that "there is no update" the definitve way is to ask them to give you the current ECM/TCU part numbers .Look those up in the SB and if it is present ,they have no choice but to comply.
So for ppl who got ITB10-075, I am 90% sure that ITB12-027a is only an ECM update. My current TCM part number is not on the list .

Got it!
I had TSB12-027a applied to my 09G37s Sedan. So far I am thrilled with the imporvement in the shifting. There is very minimal gear hunting or lag. I entered a curve while driving and the power returned as soon as it was summoned. I havent played with the DS mode much. It does seem to hold the shifts a bit longer in DS mode. D mode is just very smooth. Honestly I was driving my car like it was brand new. It felt amazing. I hope its not a mental thing

So coming from an original factory flashed 09 I have noticied several improvements that make the trans much better now.
Manual mode upshifts a lot faster now!! Before it was delayed when you moved the lever until it actually went up a gear. Also I have noticed it shifts firmer than before in this mode. Rev matched Downshifts feel the same with maybe a touch less engine breaking but it still works very well.
In normal D there is no more gear hunting or upshift flare that would happen a lot. Downshifts also seem to be more responsive with less throttle needed to invoke them. Trans behaves so far in stop and go traffic with no slamming or crazy downshifts. Panic breaking doesn't seem to endure that wild rev match downshift anymore.
DS mode is still very enjoyable allowing for even less pedal effort to downshift into the right gear. As some others mentioned, DS used to really hang onto the revs for too long, this is not the case anymore, just the right amount.
Overall I will say everyone needs to get the ECM/TCM flash offered, especially on the 09s. It makes a world of difference with the trans doing all the right things so far. Something weird I noticied with the 2012 XS I drove is tht it felt even smoother/softer than my car with the flash so I'm not sure what they have done to those cars.

I have to drive mine some more but for some reason Im still thinking it got worse after a few days of the reflash. Still seems to hold gears a little longer, but Im finding a few spots where its in too high a gear and takes a bit of throttle to downshift again. Basically how it acted BEFORE the flash.
Makes me wonder if the flash was done correctly (now that I see the procedure to do it), but without a ConsultIII I assume there is no way I can check the s/w versions that are installed right now.
