Transmission Chattering Noise

I have a 2008 G37S, was hearing this chattering sound like a light weight flywheel but only after driving for like 30-40 mins city or traffic.

Took it to the dealer, found out the rubber around the throw out bearing was ripped up, so they replaced that. Sound was still there, so after talking to Infiniti Tech Line, they ended up replacing the fly wheel. I have about 40k miles, and don't drive the car hard at all. They said clutch was still in excellent condition.

This is just in case some one else has the noise, take it to the dealer and have them check the above stuff.

Car drives like new again

Interesting - i was just about to start a thread on this. My G37-S makes an *awful* chattering sound at low speeds eg. while pulling away from a stop. It's quite loud. The clutch feels okay, no slippage or weird behaviour, just this chattering / shuddering sound.

Anybody else experience this?

Ya, I have the same thing happen at low speeds... usually when coming to a stop. If i push the clutch in, i get this noise like something is bouncing.. I took it to the dealer and was able to reproduce the noise. He told me it was just because the coupe uses a racing clutch/flywheel. LOL.. Im still trying to find out the real reason.

Could be a blown bearing in the transmission. That was the cause for the similar noises described above in my previous car.

There are a million threads about this on the boards and all really lead to nowhere. When you take it in to the dealer for inspection, the typical response you get is that it is a normal sound characteristic of the Dual Mass Flywheel..

Apparently this noise only gets worse with lightened flywheel upgrades etc.

I never had a manual transmission have this much noise and be normal. I don't remember my car having this noise when I first bought it.

I just got my car back today after installing the South Bend Stage 2 kit.

I had the clutch, flywheel, master cylinder, pilot bushing, and zspeed CSC kit installed.

I am experiencing shudder at low RPM in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears. Sometimes it's gone though.

Anyone have more information on this?
