My first g37...what should i do next?

Hey guys! I'm a new member to this site and i recently bought me a 2010 g37 automatic transmission. (I live close to LA and traffic sucks) which is the reason why I leaned towards the auto.

Any advice on some first things i should work on to make my car better? body and mechanically? I am no genius when it comes to cars, but now that I have this car, i really want to learn.

Congrats so to start off make sure your transmission has received both updates and you can do that by taking it to any infiniti dealer and asking them to look it up by the vin, second how many miles do you have?

Thank you

I will definitely get up on that too. I checked the carfax for the car and it looked like it got an engine inspection in dec 2014, but I will do one again.

I got it with 60k miles.

I did notice it was a little rough when i pressed on the brakes, i dont know if that is a thing with the car.

Shouldn't be, make sure to check your brake fluid, possibly change it as well as its good to do every 30k miles, have your brakes checked as well many places will check for free

There's so many things man where can I start!

Aesthetics:
Suspension lowering:
Lowering springs: I would recommend mild drops such as swift springs, eibach pro kit etc.
I had both and really like the quality of swift
Coilovers: depending on budget coil overs can cost a little more but are adjustable and can get the car lower ok how you want it, there's plenty of good one KW are one of the best, BC Racing, Tein etc

Wheels:
20's goes really well when lowering it, there so many choices depending on budgets, I think the JDM wheels are the best but yes they will cost more but def worth the price, for people on a budget some good quality cast wheels like niches, vossens, etc........ List goes on plenty of vendors on here for wheels, getyourwheels.com , carid.com , JDM wheels a good place to look is ravspec.com

Exhaust: lots of choices, on a budget axle back exhaust such as top speed are a good bang for your buck, full catback is also great such as ARK, Stillen, Invidea, HKS, etc.

High flow Cats are good for performace gains:
Resonated HFC from fast intentions really good, z1 high flow cats

Test pipes: Motordyne Art pipes are amazing from what I have heard and loud!

Intake:
Most gains Stillen Gen 3 long tube
Takeda is also good as well

R2C for short ram is also a good mod!

Not going to tell you what you can do, but will tell you what not to do ..

DO NOT put stickers on your car!!! Some people may tell you they add HP, don't believe it. 8-)

Have you ever lived in a large metropolitan area with a daily commute of 40-50 miles? Say the Washington/Baltimore beltway (aka 270/495). If you have it's no lol

I live in SoCal (Orange County), and I'm stuck on the 55 (New Port Beach) and the 405 freeway daily. No issues driving manual.

Actually had an auto for 2 years (lease). It was horrible in traffic. Like bored to tears horrible. Which I why I went back to a 6mt.

Well pushing the clutch in for 10ft of moment, then putting in neutral for 30 seconds and doing it all over again for 30-45 minutes does get real old. To each his own.

Glad to have you man!! Welcome to the club!

First thing I did was a long tube cold air intake. This has nothing to do with the traffic you'll be involved in daily, but it sure is a fun mod! It was also my very first project I ever did myself. Just like you when I bought this car I immediately wanted to start the learning and modding process.
