Can a shop with an OBD II computer do anything to modify the ECU or can they just

reset it ? the mechanic at the PD said he could hook up my car to his OBD but im wondering if there is anything performance wise he can do or does it require custom mapping to change things ?

Yeah, the mapping that Cobb and other companies has gone through R&D and made countless dyno runs to figure out the fuel and air rations through out the power band. A mechanic with an OBD scan tool, unless he's some crazy engineer wouldn't know what perameters to set the car at. If he could then he's in the wrong line of work and needs to change jobs and go work for some aeronautics space company, thats a lot of math work.
