Anyone stretch Toyo Proxes 4? 245/35/20 on 10.5 wheel

I went to replace my old 245/35/20 Toyo Extensa HP with the same size Toyo Proxes 4 Plus. The guys at the shop were wrestling with it for a while, and then said they couldn't get it to inflate. They're the same guys that installed my original set. They said the stiffer sidewall made it impossible.

I thought Proxes 4 were another favorite in the stretch tire world. Has anyone had any success with this exact setup?

No advice on the situation itself, but why not run a wider tire like a 275 or bigger on a 10.5" wheel? Or will that cause rubbing issues?

IIRC Falkens are the stretchiest, not sure which model though. The Hellaflush guys should know.

I'm trying to stick to Toyo since they have sizes for my front and rears, and they're reasonably priced. I think I'm going to have to go back to the Extensas. I really had my heart set on the Proxes, but this past experience has been pretty disappointing.
