I appreciate your help. I did not expect any reply
Okay so I will do it the way you have. The navtool link you provided does not work anymore, is it the one for $300 with HDMI input?
Oh that's a good option with that camera. So the camera grid lines are not lined up with car/wheels, its a bit on the side?
I want to plug the android tv box permanently but I am not sure how to use it without the touchscreen. Do you have a keyboard or something?
I am also questioning the navigation, does it work with the android box? Do I need any additional GPS receiver? I think it's more convenient than connecting the phone each time, its mostly going to be used just for navigation.
I am also thinking about adding a touchscreen overlay to the screen. Would it work?

The lines aren't really off from side to side, but the distance markings are. If you back up to the red lines you'll probably hit something. I stop when I'm at the beginning of the yellow to be safe.
I use a Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad to navigate on the Android box. Not practical while in motion for obvious reasons. I've toyed around with the idea of an external microphone input.
For navigation, if the Android device you're using doesn't have a built-in GPS receiver you will need to get one.
For the touchscreen, newer versions of Android can support USB touchscreen HID. At one point I considered a Raspberry Pi setup that would replace the main screen and use an RGBS to VGA converter board to pipe in the OEM display information. Who knows, I may still do that sometime down the line.

This is great. It would be nice if you can also show the steps on how you added the backup camera. Also, do you think this setup can work with OEM backup camera off ebay and attached the same way you did for the aftermarket one?
