I think the xterra is the same as the other VQ variants with 100k plugs. Regardless, I have a hard time believing plugs can truly last that long no matter what they are made or coated with, IMHO.

Thanks to all who supplied this information. I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but haven't taken on the spark plug installation/replacement since I owned a 1983 Honda Accord. My 2009 G37 is a different animal altogether. How difficult should I expect the project to be, provided I have the proper tools?

I haven't done my G but did do my xterra plugs which required the intake plenum to be removed. Simple tools and a spark plug socket should get the job done. I don't think it's nearly as difficult as my xterra was. There's a good write up available in the forum.

In the middle of changing mine out right now but I cant get the sparks out. Put my 14mm extended socket on the new sparks to make sure it fits and it does but just spins on the ones already on. I'm think maybe the previous owner put in aftermarket ones that are different size? Hard to tell from the outside but does anyone know if there are other common ones with a different size bolt?

Try a 5/8 deep socket

I found these on amazon for $12.94 for a pack of 6. Should I go with these ones it's the same as oem, but i'm wary about the price. Seems too good to be true kind of thing.

Does this kit have all the tools I'll need to replace my spark plugs? If not, can someone give me a link to a tool set with everything I'll need. I'm very, very new to DIY auto so I figured changing my spark plugs would be a good place to start learning.

Yes and no.

It has what you need, if you don't count other basic sockets/tools to get to the spark plugs (i.e. for the stuff you have to remove to get to the plugs). but you would be wise to get some plastic tubing from home depot to help you reseat the new plugs as well...

To be honest though the only things you need out of that kit are the 14mm thin walled spark plug socket and the extension (I can't tell if that extension will be long enough).

the 14mm socket can be bought on its own and if you have a basic socket set it probably already has a 3/8" extension in it somewhere.

For people that used a vacuum hose to drop the spark plugs in, what was the size of the hose (inside diameter)?
