DIY: Reset TPMS Warning by yourself for FREE
I just want to turn the TPMS off period......didn't move them over to the new setup cause the light stayed on all the time anyway and the pressures were spot on. Didn't feel like having crapped out sensors changed either......Not a fan of TPMS in general on any car and I kinda think it's ridiculous what is necessary to fix the issue. Infiniti should be able to fix this for free or just turn the whole thing off through programming if requested by the car owner

Here is what I know that may provide hints to anyone.
1. Grounding the wire 5 times triggers the blinking.
2. You must start the grounding process immediately after turning to car ON (engine OFF)
3. After 5 groundings the light starts blinking. If not you have missed the window so turn OFF the car and start over.
4. After the light is blinking step on clutch/brake and start the engine. The light remains blinking. If it stays lit solid then something is wrong and you should go through tpms diagnostic.
The rest is driving until light is solid.
It has worked on my new set of 4 TPMS in new wheels and I haven't had any issue of light coming back on.

What do you mean by:

What do you mean tpms diagnostic?
If you have the service manual it is on page WT-11 under SELF DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (WITHOUT CONSULT-III)
FWIW, there is a partial information in the service manual about reset described on page WT-6 under ID REGISTRATION PROCEDURE in section 3.ID REGISTRATION (WITHOUT TRANSMITTER ACTIVATION TOOL) which talks about setting each tire to a specific pressure value.

I did it in a different way.
1) Start the engine. ( Yes , engine is running)
2) Grounding the wire 5 times triggers the blinking.
3) Drive the car for 15 min. with the different pressures in each tires.
4) Tpms light off.
5) put back proper pressure on tires. Done.
Thanks Modme

Ive got to try this again, but Ive just been lazy.
GB1295: Did you leave the car running while you did step 5? Did you have to drive it around to pick up on the new PSI or add air and thats it?
Kverdina: Once the tpms light was off, I went straight to the nearest gas station, turn off engine and put back proper tire pressures.
I drove the car at different speed once the light started to blink.
( max speed about 35 mph, lots of stop and go (traffic lights)). Did you drive too fast once the light started to blink?

As I was ready to give up and get off the freeway, the light stopped blinking and stayed on constant lit.. I drove up the street to my house, turned the car off and filled up the air.. Next day I got in my car for work and the light was still on..
Maybe next time I'll just do city driving, keeping it under 35ish MPH..
When your light stopped blinking, did it come on steady lit telling you that your tires are low on air or did it shut off completely when you got to the gas station?

When my tpms light was off , it stayed off when I got to the gas station, I then turned off the engine and put back the air.
Actually, it took less than 10 minutes before the light went off, total travel distance was about 3 miles on city streets.

I've attempted this a few times without success and can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Each tire was set to the correct PSI before the following steps.
1. Car ON Engine OFF
2. Ground wire by tapping 6 times
3. This causes the light to blink slowly (wait 1 min before starting)
4. Start engine and light no longer blinks but stays solid
I've tried both starting the car right away after it blinks and waiting a few mins.
I've driven around for 10 mins after step 4 a few times already too.
Can anyone help?

I'm getting a set of sensors to put on my aftermarket wheels so I don't have to keep swapping sensors during winter/summer. Will this method work for the new sensors I'm purchasing for my aftermarket wheels? Many thanks.
