I'm planning to install a new grill, but after reading this thread it looks like the newer models are more difficult to install. How many people have successfully installed a grill on a 2010 or 2011 by removing the radiator cover?

I attached the instructions for grill removal, but it's similar to what has already been said. Although it has pictures.

I'm taking my car to a paint shop on Monday to get some key marks painted. They're going to paint my grill for me, but I need to remove it.

Once I remove, do I need to replace the radiator cover in order for the hood to close? Is it easier to go in from the bottom of the bumper by removing the bottom splash panel?

Yep, did it tonight, cracked the radiator cover. Not too bad less than 1/2 inch.

ONE QUESTION?? When I took the grille off I noticed a white plastic electrical plug. It was in the middle of the car behind the grille and in front of the radiator. Does anyone know what this is for?

I haven't been following this thread as much since I installed my grille but everytime I check back, someone cracks the cover. We should do a poll to see how many have cracked and how many haven't.

I just did mine and did not crack the cover. I also undid the screws to the white reservoir and slowly pulled the cover back while paying attention to the two bars protruding toward the back of the car.

It took me about 10-15 minutes, as opposed to the 5-10 other people take. I just took my sweet-a$$ time.
