I've owned quite a few black cars myself... it all depends on the paint to be honest. I usually can get away without needing to polish using a fine grade bar (granted, that is if the surface is already at my expectation)

Aggressive bars, forget about it, bust out the DA or rotary.

Remember kids, friends don't let friends wash their cars with Dawn, because old man Zaino said it was ok.

Use a high concentration of a citrus wash 2.5oz:1 gal, and an IPA wipe down if need be.

Chemical Guys Citrus Wash & Clear, or Wash & Gloss, both work well.

I'm speaking specifically about this car, not others. We all know some paint is harder then others. Your G isn't black where every fine scratch shoes, its it? You probably get the same marring that I do on your car but cant' see it because it's white.

I use a sun gun to check my work... but do agree with you, Infiniti paint is incredibly soft.
