Deelow's G37 Sedan Build Thread
Good News: I've pulled the trigger on a few items such as paint for the center caps and grille, R2C Intake, a shifter boot and working on getting my Akebonos slowly ready to drop off for powder-coat(Still haven't decided on a color). Rears should be here this week!
Bad News: I've been too crappy feeling to do anything to the car for 2 weeks now so my garage is slowly filling with parts. I hope by this weekend sometime I'll have enough done to warrant an update!

I'm unsure yet, like I was saying, I've been too sick to work on her. I'm feeling a bit better today, so I'm much more likely to get to doing my brake pads this weekend. I plan on test fitting the calipers while I change out my non sport pads. I hope everything is just a swap with the exception of pads and pad hardware. I'm waiting on my caliper guy to get back with me on the caliper parts as well.

I haven't bought anything yet. I'm looking very hard for what others think works best. I want performance over looks for sure, which a lot of people I've seen say slotted rotors seem best in that regard over drilled and slotted. Opinions? I'd appreciate any you all have.
I agree that slots are a better way to go over drilled & slotted. I've developed the opinion that slotted *and* drilled will compromise the lifetime of the rotor and pads, and all for appearance sake. Right or wrong, IDK, it's just an opinion I've developed, and one certainly open to change.
Two-piece rotors are freaking beautiful, in a steam-punk sort of way. (drool drool) But they are also significantly more expensive, and there's little to zero value to having them in your daily driver.
You could also go so far as to say there's no significant value at all in having a BBK on your DD. In fact, you could easily argue that the heavy rotors are hurting you in added unsprung weight much more than they are helping you in braking performance. However, the BBK came stock on my car, and it's a gorgeous setup, so meh.

I did a DIY grounding kit on mine just for fun and curiosity to see if I got smoother idle or anything. Didn't notice a thing with my 6MT, but a lot of people claim it genuinely improves AT shifts.

So the cost for the hardware, which my buddy says the guy gave away is gonna cost me:
OC Infiniti Caliper parts kits (hardware kit) - Front: $102.80 ,Rear: $101.03 just for caliper hardware I need not including the brake lines. Good news is I'm gonna buy during the sale going on at the end of the month and hopefully save a bit. So far OC is the cheapest I found.

Can you get P/Ns for the caliper parts? I can see if I can find a better price for you. I know of a couple sources. If no part numbers exist, call Infiniti of Tyson's Corner in VA - they have a 30% sale going on.
Also I just ordered rotors for mine, I went with Centric blanks:
I opted for Cryo treated because from what Centric told me on the phone, they use the newest rotors they have in stock and then treat them on-site. The cryo process hardens the rotors making them further durable.

- Hi-Carbon (cryo treated) fronts
- Premium (cryo treated) rears

Here's all the BBK part #s, this is an older listing so some part#s may be updated but using these you should still be able to get all the pricing info you need. It's got emoticons enabled so that last part, clips should be 8 instead of the

Also do you want OEM Rotors and Pads? I think aftermarket pads come with clips front and rear. I could be mistaken though.

Here is what I came up with. I think he price quotes you got from OC Infiniti were missing pins and clips. What I need to figure out is if aftermarket pads come with pins or clips in the box...
Here are the P/Ns I used from the link Brad provided:
D1080-JL00A Front Disc Brake Hardware Kit
41217-JL00A Front Disc Brake Pins (Requires QTY of 4)
D4080-JL00A Rear Disc Brake Hardware Kit
44217-JL00A Rear Disc Brake Pins (Requires QTY of 4)
41218-JL00A Clips (Requires QTY of 8)
Comes out to be $250 with tax and shipping
