Since the car is essentially brand new, it will be a number of years before yanking out the OEM struts. There's likely as set of Tein Coilovers in my future. (Not lowering springs.) When that happens, I'll consider going for a more uniform gap, which means dropping it about a 1/2" to 1.0".

Looks are relative, handling isn't. Ironically you state you want to eventually get coilovers. So lowering is stupid until you want to do it?

And the practical truth in my situation is that my driveway has a 2-3 foot rise from the road to the sidewalk. As things are with almost any passenger car, I have to come at it at an angle. If I go straight-on in either direction, I will scrape the underside of the bumper.

Everything else is just opinion.

That is your opinion and your are intitled to it. I think cars dropped look amazing but like you, I could never drop my G that low. I went with a mild drop for a more uniform look but I went with Swift Springs instead of coilovers. My ride quality is much better than stock. Anyway I love your ride regardless of wheel gap. White is my favorite and was my choice but couldnt find one when I was purchasing and settled for black (Looks good too but is always dirty!)

Black is amazing when clean and perfect. But you have to be a slave to your car to keep it that way. This is my fourth white car in 30 years. Something about white is very relaxing and upscale (to me).

I'm just down the road in Buffalo. I'm wrestling with a new car decision very soon. I've got an 09 G37xS, previously had an 06 Altima SE-R 6sp.

Do I just get another G37xS?, G37S RWD, G37 6MT? Thinking 370z?...Argh.....

Wishing the next G was due out in a few months instead of 12-18.

Sounds like you're leasing, Mike. That tends to put a bit of a schedule constraint on your plans. Go drive the 370Z. Beautiful car, hugely fun, but very impractical and visibility is non-existent.

Great choice on the new ride. I love mine. I came from the 07X which was my first AT in my life (30 years driving/owning many vehicles). I enjoyed it but it will be a long time before I ever go that route again.

After having springs and realizing how the car's interior falls apart after 20k miles, I really started loving the stock sport suspension. The "4x4" look is personal preference, I used to hate it hence why I got springs, but I guess I grew out of that lowered stage.

It doesn't perform better the lower you sit, handling isn't only measured by a low center of gravity. Your suspension needs room to play in order to absorb bumps while cornering hard. I use my car for both auto-x and tarmac rally events and especially for any mountain road area, stiffer suspension is good but too low and you will bounce and slide around everywhere.

And Rochester, I agree with you on the coilover idea, 1/2inch to 1inch is still okay. Oh btw for the Gs the KW V3s are good, I remember the days were the Tein SS used to rule the org!
