So the tranny will just have to wait a little while longer.

It really takes some practice to properly launch an AWD car, especially with how much power you are making. My first real extended foray into drag racing was with a first generation 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. That car was very heavily modify (way more so than my G) and was pushing around 600 HP out of the 2.0L turbo. Over the decade I owned that car my 60 ft times gradually improved from right around what you are running now, 2.1 - 2.3 on average, to where I was consistently running 1.5 to 1.6 60 ft times... and on street tires no less. That 1/2 second plus reduction in 60 ft time ultimately equated to almost 1 second at the end of the 1320' and put my 1/4 mile times into the low 11's. Rule of thumb back then was every tenth off your 60 ft time equaled 2 tenths at the end of the 1/4. So, if you are able to get your 60 ft times even just down to 1.8 seconds then your probably be pulling off low 11's in the 1/4.

Hahaha, yeah, I've become a spokesperson for Level 10 for sure. They do awesome work! I'll be playing around with launches and getting a lower slip for the 1/4 mile. Just need to get it right. Focusing a lot more on time attack now but the drag strip is still fun. Thanks for the tips, hopefully I can knock down the time!

Got to head out to Octane Attack at Driveway Austin last weekend and had a blast!!! It was great to get some legit seat time in and learn the car more on a very technical course. I need to do some more learning and get those times down now!

Started the Feal coilover installation. Got the front right on but stripped nuts on the front left. A lot of cursing and hurt knuckles were had. It's on a piece that's not even necessary too. Just blocks the removal of the "A" arm (which has it's very own large bolt). Going to cut the bolt head and move forward.

Still looking at the rears and where I'll need to cut for the compression/rebound adjustment.

Is the adjuster for both compression and rebound on top? It'll be really tight. I "took a look" when I was debating coilovers to see where I'd run one of those extension to make adjustments and gave up. It looked like it was right where the glass met the chassis.

Hell, I would have come over and helped. I could probably swap a full set in a bit over an hour if all four corners are in the air.

They are two separate adjustments. One with the external reservoir. Not sure if I'll run the rear extender or just may end up cutting a little bit (car's going into full blown race mode anyway).

I should have hit you up when I started. Do you have a good place for alignments (I don't think anyplace in SA does corner balancing)?

Unfortunately there are no shops with corner weight scales in San Antonio. The closest is in Austin. There IS a guy off of I-10 headed out to Borrne in middle of nowhere but trust me, your car would never make it down his driveway which isn't paved. I barely made it with my car at OEM height.

As far as alignments go, Blackjack is very good. They're off Huebener, East of Babcock. Not sure what part of town you're in. The shop owner did say they wanted to get some scales and they are going to install a dyno at that location soon. They're right around the corner from me. Tim Duncan shows up on occasion, usually Mondays. I usually get anything done there on Monday as it's my day off.

Definitely going to avoid the guy off I-10. I'd be stuck there forever haha. I'll have to hit up Blackjack then, they are about 15 miles away so it's not too bad. Maybe I'll try to plan it out on a Monday too! Thanks for the info!

Yeah let me know. I actually need to adjust my settings, hair more camber up front and a hair less in the rear.

Coilovers on... finally! Alignment will be tomorrow. Still trying to find a good corner balance shop that I can plan a drive to (looks like Austin or Houston)

With the install I kept the same height as the Eibach spring drop and it feels amazing. Got a chance to quickly dial it in during time attack and it is great!

Dropped almost a full second off my lap times even without a corner balance. 10/10 for the feal coils!
