I came across this thread be searching Soul Function. Which braces do you have on your car? Did you have any problems fitting them over your aftermarket exhaust? Can you give handling impressions? Sorry, it's not meant to derail your build thread, you can PM me if you'd like to keep it offline. Thanks!

 

No prob. I have the six point and the rear tie bar. I have the six point on currently but have not put the rear tie bar on yet. The six point definitely makes the car feel a little more solid. No issues with fitment either.

So what's the BK BST switch for? Does that turn off the brake override so you can actually power brake?

 

BK BST = Brake Boost


Yeah it disables the brake override and keeps the tail lights as well!

Yeah, they're very well constructed and no, it was not a big change in ground clearance.

Perfect! That's exactly what I need to add. Did you happen to put together a DIY on that one too?

I don't have the Soul Function braces, but I do have full GT Spec bracing (4-point, 6-point- M-Brace, Rear Tie Bar, Lateral Braces, etc...) which look almost exactly the same as the Soul Function braces. It seems that the 6 point and front lateral braces made the biggest difference to the overall chassis stiffness. The do, however, reduce the ground clearance quite a bit and I'm constantly bottoming out the center of the car now on the 6-point brace when going over speed bumps.

It allowed me to retain my brake lights with usage.

 

Damn Mike I've been following your build for quite some time now and I have to say I fall more in love with it all everytime so keep up the great work!

 

Thanks Kenny! There are some more goodies in tomorrow to test fit/make work. I'll keep posted as long as parts keep coming in and track times keep needing work.

 

Still waiting to get my final tune. Goodies did not test fit well. If anyone was considering using the EVO-R side mirrors (like the Zs) they do not fit well on the G's at all! Way to much to get them to be nice, gave up that project.
