I know other centric pads come with a hardware kit, but i dont know about the stoptech pads. A hardware kit shouldnt be more than $5-10, or you can reuse your old ones (hit them with a wire brush and brake cleaner then lubricate)

 

The Stoptech pads (at least when I ordered them only came w/ the pads, no hardware kit or shims) the Posi Quiets DO have the hardware kit. Like Victory mentioned, should be able to reuse your set, and the Stoptech pads don't require any shims. If you want the hardware kit you only need one kit for the front and one for the rear.

 

Let me know how you like them. I'm waiting out whatever brakes were on the car when i bought it.

I'll suggest meguiar's wheel brightener. If the brake dust is particularly bad. Wear gloves and eye pro. It's powerful stuff.

I'd be sure to do a full brake fluid flush too, rather than just a top-off. I've had good results w/ Valvoline Dot3-4 full synthetic and a quart jug will be plenty.

 

Ford Heavy Duty brake fluid is some good stuff, too. That's what we used in our LeMons Sentra SE-R road racer. One of the highest dry boiling points out there. Wet boiling point isn't class leader but it's as good as most other consumer brake fluids.

 

Where do you find that stuff nowadays? Haven't seen any in 10 years.

 

Four years ago at a Ford dealer. We used it in our LeMons Sentra SE-R. Haven't look for brake fluid since.

 

i had Hawk Performance Ceramic on a previous car, and they had good bite and far less dust than stock pads.
not sure if they make them for the G, but if they do, im going with them when its time ....

 

I'm not 100% sure, but I have possible front rotor warp with stop tech (slotted ). I'm pretty sure I will get new ones after warranty procedures. If it happens again I may look at other options.

 

Slotted rotors can cause noise and vibrations that can be mistaken for being warped. Another reason i prefer blanks.

 

Interesting, my shop is suppose to do some measurments on them and contact stop tech on Tuesday. I plan on doing a service at the dealer monday, I may ask them to look at it just incase the vibration is not related to the brakes.

 

So I installed my stoptech pads with my ceramic blank rotors on Friday night. The install was really simple. The brakes grip on really good and stopping is not a problem! I would recommend them 100%. Money well spent!
