Anyone have anything on EBC Rotors
Hey guys,
So after 6 months of vibrations and pedal shudder I'm taking out my Z1 rotors and thinking of going with EBC USR rotors ( USR7512 and USR7513). Anyone have experience with these seems like every time I pick a set they warp within 6 mothns :/ .
No Z1 didn't take theirs back either so they're going in the trash :/

I feel your pain on the brake judder. I upgraded to the akebono bbk and have had vibrations after day 1. This is my second time with centric premium blanks and stop tech pads. The first time was on the smaller brake setup, and experienced the same thing. Never again. Let me know how it turns out with the ebc rotors. I'm saving up not for some Dba 5000 front and 4000 rears.

Plenty of life left in the pads, but I decided to ditch them when I put centric premiums on around this time last year... I chose to try the newer Hawk HPS 5.0 pads due to a few friends I know raving about them. Hawk has really improved on other HPS iterations by making these have good to great attributes in the categories most people are concerned with (noise at cold temps & overall noise, dusting, bite and feel, ability to take heat and residual transfer/build up). Thus far in 15k miles, this setup has been perfect for me. No judder at all, and I have no reason not to plan on getting this same setup again when it comes time. It could also be a case that I'm more aware than ever at stop lights about cooling the brakes (just drive awhile without using them, steady slight roll at lights to keep pads not stationary on the rotor face) after running her hard.
Lateral runout could be your issue in your instance, but honestly...you should take a look at your pad choice too. I was completely sold on ST because well, it's ST and they make badass brake setups and the such. I honestly think the SS pads lean more towards casual/ weekend auto-x person than they do daily driver, but that's just my opinion. I'll sacrifice a bit of initial bite for a pad option that is nearly zero maintenance aside from using common sense about braking surfaces and how they interact. The HPS 5.0 pads have a great progressive braking feel to them, it's suits the Infiniti well as I've modded mine towards a GT car w/ some luxury, rather than trying to make it what it wasn't initially - an aggressive street car (370z?).
Those DBA's are amazing...certainly an upgrade in unsprung weight savings and performance over the centric prem's...keep us posted on the forum how they work out for you.

I've used the EBC rotors and pads on my 2004 G35
They felt a little better than stock.
The biggest change was breaking distance. A lady pulled out right in front of me on the high way while I was going 60mph. I slowed down a lot before we crashed.

I installed an EBC rotors kit.
I got my kit from Concept Z Performance and have put about somewhere around 2.5k-3k miles on it. It consisted of slotted rotors, Red Stuff pads, lines and some 600+ (can't remember brand they asked to swapped to make the delivery date) brake fluid. I can tell you, the kit is awesome. The pads do give a lot of dust but correct me if I'm wrong here, as long as the pads or the material that bites is not literally breaking apart then more dust=better braking power? The only issue I am having right now though is the fact I feel like I need to bleed the brakes again. Sometimes the pedal is squishy at the top, I sometimes feel like the brakes are not on, but then I just push it further and then I feel the brake booster kick in and and it stops. Now I have yet to do a +100 mph shortest distance stop, but I did hit the brakes HARD around 60 and well my lunch, cover and wallet that was riding shotgun flew into the firewall. I can tell you they work.
I have non sport brakes right now with EBC high carbon slotted rotors and red stuff pads with SS lines and DOT 4 fluid and the braking power is awesome. I can burn rubber braking thats pretty powerful if you ask me. Brake fade is minimal if at all and that's with heavy braking on the highway taking off ramps. Dusting is moderate initial bite is good and it gets better as thy heat up. Strongly recommended.
