Where did he say that? I'm sure the kit came with two spanner wrenches.

I'm kind of surprised that adjustable coil-overs ride differently at different heights. The shock stroke is unchanged, only the body(overall shock length) is shortened.

So Coil-overs ride more harshly the lower they are set?
Thanx man, Too bad I didn't keep them, I was one of the ones who had the horrid knock issue, and couldn't get is solved :/ so I sold them.

Hopefully the fortune 500's work out!

Correct sir, the kit came with a hefty pair of wrenches.

It also came with explicit instructions to NOT rely on them to tighten the lock collar.

Pray tell, what should you rely on? Are you expecting to have to check the lock collar every few hundred miles? That will get seriously old the very first time you make yourself do it.

Makes you wonder why the industry doesn't design some kind of immovable locking mechanism between the lock ring and the CO. I'm no mechanical engineer, but really, how difficult could that be?

BTW, Zilla, I think it was a smart move getting the extensions for the rears and poking them through the trunk. In for a penny, in for a pound... and all that. I'm kind of jealous how my Teins don't support damping adjustment, even though I tell myself it's something I would dial in to a preference and never touch again.

Wow. Really?

And if that doesn't work, just cut your springs and roll your fenders with a baseball bat.

Hmmmm, I just used the included wrenches w/ mine, about 50k miles and still tight.
But if they make a special note to do it that way, then there must have been problems.

Perhaps it is similar to the legal protection in the same way the manual states these coil-overs must not be used on public roads.

Yep, all these aftermarket parts are for our annual G37 sand buggy runs

Which reminds me, need to order those new sand tires.

Excellent, thanks!

QQ: Did you have to remove your front AWD axle to install the shock as the FSM states?
Seems to me that's a lot of work to swap a shock.

No, if you remove the sway bar to lower control arm it will droop enough.
