I had some chipping towards the top of the grill so YES I wet sanded the whole thing with 220 grit sandpaper until is was completely smooth. Well worth it.

As for those who are saying the grill removal is a pain the the a$$ it's worth the 10 mins to remove it. It's like 8 screws and 15 clips. There is a really good write up that some one did on how to remove the grill and that's what I followed made it super simple. The link is below.

Good luck to you.

I want to plasti dip my grill too and saw how much of a hassle it is to remove the radiator cover, which looks like a pain. I'd much rather just spray directly onto the grill but I don't wanna cover my radiator in plasti dip...

Anyone chime in?
I didnt get a single drop on my radiator. It all depends on how your spraying it on. Your supposed to keep the can 6-8 inches away from the surface your spraying, and your supposed to coat it very lightly each time. Also I sprayed it on a downwards angle from above the bumper down onto the grille. Hope this helps!

I plan on spraying my grill Black next month, and will be leaving the grill on the car as well. I was just wondering, I don't want it to be fully matte black, like the plasti dip, but rather a bit of a glossy black, anyone know how I can achieve this look? Just spray a clear coat over the plasti dip?

I didn't trust myself to leave it on the car so I pulled it off. Just finished my last coat (5 coats) and waiting for at least an hour before putting it back on the car and a few more hours before driving. I would have only done 4 coats but had some bubbling on the second that I had to lightly sand down and it looked like it needed the last one.

Its not perfect but it looks better than chipped chrome and I can redo at a later date if I want to, but Nopi Nationals is this weekend and the monthly car show is tomorrow so I wanted her to be "good enough."

There is supposedly a Glossifier you can use to achieve that affect. You spray it on after your matte plasti dip has dried, but i have never used it, nor seen anyone use it, so i am not sure how effective it is.

Glossifier

Glossifier
The glossifier works good. Basically the more you put on,the shinier it gets.

You can use the Glossifier.....it does fade over time so just expect to reapply every once in a while.
