Hey guys. So I'm gonna paint my grill black but I want to know what paint slash method is the best. I'm thinking plasti dip and removing the grill to do it. Thanks for your input.

I just recently plasti dipped my grill (and fog light surround) I pulled the grill all the way off and it went pretty well. Not sure how long it will last.
I definitely recommend taking the grill off the car to spray plasti dip it.
The car is dirty, but the plasti dip looks really smooth. No imperfections.
I just painted mine 2 weekends ago with matte black plasti dip. Honestly, you can remove the grill if you want it to be perfect, but i thought it would be too much work after i looked up a vid on youtube of some guy taking the grille off. I just shoved my fingers behind the grille to release the front emblem from the grill.. Then I used 3M masking tape and taped off all areas around my grille and headlights and went to town. I followed a plasti dip vid on youtube by some guy named Fonzie doing a VW Jetta. I hit it with a light even coat every 20 minutes in my garage, about 5 or 6 coats in total, then let it dry inside overnight and it came out perfect...
It's a pain for what it is. The radiator cover is a real hassle. It took me a lot longer to get it off than I am proud to say and I like to think I am pretty mechanically savvy.
All the DIY grille removals i see are terrible i heard taking the grille off is a pain in the ***. Anyone have a link to a clear DIY?
I thought the sedan was simple, coupe may be a bit more troublesome but shouldn't be. Takes me about 10 minutes now since I've done it several times. The two plastic dowel pins on the backside of the radiator cover are the only real tricky parts, they're completely hidden, they're about a 1/4" in diameter and are centered between the 2nd and 3rd back cover bolts facing the plastic coolant tank. You need to get all the bolts/clips undone on that cover then push the cover back as hard as you can to clear those pesky pins, if you don't clear those pins and try to pull it up you'll crack the cover.. Once you do that you can get enough access to get a socket with medium extension into those 5 (It think it's 5) nuts. No need to remove all those wire harnesses off the harness clips.

Aren't you concerned about plasti dip hitting your radiator?
I want to plasti dip my grill too and saw how much of a hassle it is to remove the radiator cover, which looks like a pain. I'd much rather just spray directly onto the grill but I don't wanna cover my radiator in plasti dip...
