paint the grille?

I just got a 09 g37s and i want to paint the grille, I talking to autobody guy.. He said that if you paint the grille it will chip, So I was wondering if anyone had that problem...

I had my grille painted for almost a year now and most of my driving is on the highway, as a result I have ZERO rock chips. If your So.Cal I know a few places that will do an awesome job for dirt cheap.

I painted mine and did a great job but have rock chips all over.

Well it isn't made of metal => it'll eventually chip.. not too bad but won't hold up like PC wheels for instance. But a reputable shop with the right amount of coating should do a decent job. I have like microscopic chips but I live in the deserts and fly on the highway haha

mine is only a few months old but has a couple chips already. ill probably just get some touchup paint and fix it myself.

I painted my myself and did 3 coats of clear with some HEAVY wax sealant & no chips to date!

Go for it. Mine is not painted and i still get chips in the stock chrome.
