142lbs, never put any objects in my back pockets, and noticeable bubbling both both halfs of the seat. G37x sedan 2009 (non-sport), only 6 months old.

debating whether to mention to dealership at my next oil change. They already replaced my leaky moonroof. They will start thinking I'm a pest.

I bought my '08 Sport last month with 19k mi's and noticed the bubble first time I opened the door and peeked in, but didn't really think much of it since I really wanted the car. Not sure how long the car sat on the dealer's lot, but the bubble on the right bottom panel has definitely gotten a bit worse since it's been driven on a daily basis again for the past month. Also noticed the leather on the bottom side bolster closest to the door is wrinkled and beginning to crack. I'll try to post a pic in the next day or so.

Call it nit-picky if you like, but like others who are having this problem, I totally agree that it looks like crap and should not be happening on any car this early (if at all) - and especially not on a "premium" brand name one that costs $40k+ new.

How do I go about getting in contact with Infiniti directly to talk to them about getting this covered prior to taking it in for my next service?

I've already gotten some form of run around on just about everything else I've had to have covered under warranty (frt rotors, exhaust, tranny replace) by my local dealer and don't feel like going through the "normal wear & tear" routine with them.

Looks like you keep your wallet in your right back pocket. And that is why it is stretched out there.

I don't know what to do about it though. I keep my wallet in my other pocket so I know it's not that. Also, since the seats are so expensive to replace I am sure the dealership will give me trouble....

Has anyone had their seats replaced because of an issue like this?
Thanks John. have two file attach same your picture.

sadly I had been reading this awhile back without having the issue in my 09 g37xs. now I have it as well. Someone had mentioned the heated seats. I wonder if using that feature can cause this issue.

I mentioned this to my dealer when I took it in for its 30K maintenance. Pointed out there are many posts on this site and others about this, so it wasn't "just me." Without hesitation, the dealer ordered a new "seat skin" (his term) and replaced it under warranty. Looks great. It looks like YMMV depending on who your dealer is.

Mine doesn't bother me that much, but I might have it replaced at some point just to make use of the warranty.

Took my car in yesterday. Over the last 4000 miles I've developed a nice hill in my seat. I'd attach a picture, but it's nothing that hasn't already been posted by everyone already. I'm only 150lbs and always take my wallet out of my backpocket before I sit down.

Anyhow, they said it was a potential issue with buttons inside the seat that hold the foam layer down that come off. With that said, they have one on order and will replace it for me when it arrives. Hassle free

Got the driver side seat cushion replaced under warranty today.

The new seat cushion feels a lot softer than the original did when new. Also, not sure if it was replaced as well, the thigh extension now feels loose when extended. It also clicks when jiggled. Awesome.

The seat problems have nothing to do with anyone's wallet. All the pictures I've seen indicate the bubble on the right half of the seat, just like mine. My wallet is in the left rear pocket.
This seat has inherent problems with the cushioning and the inferior leather. Also probably involves the hardware beneath.
I am on my second replacement seat. First one was no problem. Second one required a formal letter to Infiniti, with cc's up to and including the CEO of Nissan.
But I can already tell that it is the same as the others. Just a matter of time.

Ok guys, this was just brought up in another thread and reminded me to ask you guys if you were in my shoes.

I first brought my car to infiniti to replace my seat since it had the bubbling issue, and they replaced it no problem. NOW on the replacement its doing the same F'en thing. And I went to the dealership they basically told me im on my own! They handed me a buisness card wrote a number on the back and said call infiniti directly we cannot do anything about since we already fixed it. I WAS PISSED but I never followed up with it.

Its really starting to get bad and annoying, so I wanted to know if anyone has had there seat replaced more then once? And if their dealership replaced it? Im going to go back to my dealership soon being a bit more pushy and see if I can get my way, which in my eyes I think I should.

What do you guys think??

infiniti just replaces it with the same exact seat you have; so it will come back. This is an issue that Infiniti can easily say is a wear and tear item so dont expect a true fix anytime soon.
