My dealer said it was caused by having a wallet in my back pocket. Told me not to have my wallet back there...no they did not replace it.

My seats started to do this around 2000 miles but it was minor so the dealer just said it was normal. Mind you this was back in summer and the heat probably relaxed the leather back to normal. Now that I'm at 12,000 miles in winter, the bottem cushion is bubbling and staying there. Time to call dealer and hope for the best.

So I went to the dealer today and guess what ....NOTHING! they refused to replace the seat as they told me it was wear and tear and normal. Now my car only has 12,000 miles on it so by the dealers logic, EVERY OTHER infiniti should have this issue as mine was normal. I had the service people come out to their used car section to check out the seats.. and what do you know, every used infiniti out there had no seat bubble. Mine was the only car on the lot with this seat issue.

I guess those of you that have gotten the seat replaced should consider yourself very lucky.

you could try calling infiniti directly and asking them to cover under warranty. if my dealer considers it normal wear and tear when i take my car in, i'm planning to give infiniti a call directly and giving them an earful.

Call Infiniti directly, dont deal with the dealership if they are going to refuse to do it. Ive seen 20 year old cars with leather seats in better condition than what my seat was at before they replaced it. By the way its happening again im just too lazy to take it in.

From what I have read, most of the time people call Infiniti, they say it is dealer discretion as to if they will warrant the work or not. Maybe I will give them a call anyway to see what they say.

The service person also told me they cannot just replace the button cushion and that the whole seat would be replaced due to the air bag sensor. Seems like a blatant lie as many people here have had their button cushion replaced

Yeah thats a lie, they only replace the leather.

I dont get why Infiniti would say contact your dealer, when the dealer takes pictures of the seat and sends it to corporate for approval...

Just to add to the post... I've got it as well and I've got to schedule an apt to go to dealer not only for the seat... but also on the rear left passenger side window cover, the material is bubbled.

Hope they don't try to tell me the wallet line since I'm a lefty and have my wallet in the left side. I will call Infiniti directly if they won't fix it.

I already had this replaced once over a year ago. It's now starting to come back again. And I keep my wallet in my left pocket and the bubble is on the right side of the seat.

I've got to take it in some time for my TPMS malfunctioning, I might try to bring it up. I hightly doubt they will replace it again since it will be the second time and now i'm at close to 20k miles.

using cleaning products (leather cleaner/conditioner or other stuff) make the leather soft and supple. will this in turn cause the leather to bubble easier?
how many of you guys who use some sort of leather cleaner on your seats have the bubbling issue?
i dont use anything on the seats and so far no bubbling *touchwood*

Now that sucks and that tells me they haven't corrected the problem from Factory. So whats the point of replacing it is what I'm thinking. WTF Infiniti!

I use only Lexol for cleannig and I do all 4 seats and don't see any bubles in those seats at all. So I dont understand how a top notch cleaning/conditioning product like Lexol would do that.

PS: I'll post a pic of my issues on my post up top^ this weekend.

I do not have the Sport seats but I have the same problem and I can truly say It started showing up not even a month after having the vehicle!!! I am going to try the side pocket wallet thing but if it doesn't get better I'm going to mention it to the dealer on the next service date.
