Audio Design Advice Pls

Hi guys,

Hoping for some suggestions.

I want to reuse as much old equipment that I pulled out of my old car.

I have;

JL Slash 1/500
JL Slash 4/100
JL W6 10 inch in box

Kind of at a loss as to how to incorporate with OEM Bose system and if it would even make a difference in terms of sound quality.

Any ideas would be appreciated

Thnx

Adding the sub will definitely give you some more thump. I've read of people adding an aftermarket amp to push the stock bose speakers, but I have never tried this, and I'm not really sure if I would go that route, as the bose speakers are designed to work with the sound processing / EQing that happens in the bose amps.

As far as incorporating the sub, the hookup is fairly simple. You just have to cut some RCA cables and tap them into the signal from your head unit before it reaches the bose amp (located on the (L) underside of the rear deck). This can be done by tapping into some wires on the b41 harness. Most people opt to use wires 23-26 for the signal, however some have used 16 and 17 with success. Have a look at the wiring breakdown here:

User gsteigerwald was kind enough to create an extremely helpful build thread with wiring diagrams and great pictures. Check it out: https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-v...l-finally.html

I added a JL 10" to my stock bose system in my sedan. It definitely provided the bass, but after I did that I found that the rest of the system was now lacking as far as 'keeping up' with the newfound bass. I have now opted to completely eliminate the bose system, replacing the bose amp and all speakers, and I will be installing the JBL MS-8 for audio processing. Parts have been ordered, I will definitely keep you all updated on my progress.

I would buy a signal processor. From the equipment you posted I'm assuming you care about sound quality

Agreed. The sound from my current setup sounds "just ok" with the addition of the JL sub & amp. I feel like it could be better / more defined. I'm pretty confident that the MS8 processor will help with that, with the amount of customization that can be done with it.

Ms8 is OK.

I would recommend a Rockford fosgate 360.3 or an audison bit ten or bit one
