XM - Favorite Artists/Songs

So I did my due diligence and could not find the answer using the search feature...and sorry, but I'm a total newb.

I just got my first Infiniti...a 2013 G37x coupe. I have the XM/Sirius option and I can only see a total of 8 possible favorites for artists and songs. Is this really all there is??? That seems completely ridiculous. For comparisons sake...my wife's slightly older 2012 Jeep GC has 50/50. Tell me it isn't so?!? Sorry if this seems petty, but come on...8??

I only use this feature when I want to flag a new song. If you have that many favorites just buy the music & stick it on a memory stick. It will play via the USB port. I don't even like 50 artists.

Well that's the thing...I've got like 300 CDs. I guess I'm going to have to spend some major time converting everything finally...ugh. Oh well...

I really don't understand how your original post relates to music storage.
If you have the "music box" option, you can rip CDs to the hard drive. That would solve one of your problems.

You can put a Artist or song as a favorite on XM? I am not getting what OP is asking, Maybe its because I have a 2008 and it might be a newer option to add favorites

It doesn't exist on the 2008 model...starts with the 2009 I believe. I was simply wondering if 8 was the most I could mark as a favorite. It just seems weird to me. Apparently I'm the only one it seems weird to. I know several people with XM and they have like 40-60 favorites...not 8. I'm just nitpicking...I'll live.

I think its more of the fact that most people probably don't use that feature, I know I don't. My music tastes change so frequently that that feature would be way too time consuming changing it all the time. I have over 7,000 songs on my iPod that keep me happy.

I have an 08 and well. I don't think I'd use such a thing - if I'm tolerating XM's horrid audio quality it's because I want to hear things I didn't think of (new music or old music I didn't think to put on my iPod).

But now I'm curious, how does that feature work? Does it constantly search for other channels that are playing songs by that artist or something?

When a saved artist is playing on any channel, the screen displays a window with a choice to go to that specific channel to hear the song. It can be ignored. There is also an audible alert. I like it as it flags a song you have never heard so you can hear it again in it's entirety, write down the artist & hopefully buy it.
That's how it works on my 2012.

Im pretty sure theres 10 favs of each, its actually my favorite feature of my 2010 G37, I had a 07 and it didnt have it. But yes, i rented a Chrysler mini van for a few days and it did also have ability to save 50 favs. I was like WTF aswell. .. Im hoping that changes for the 2014 that comes out in a few months or im not getting a 3rd G, o i mean Q50 now.
