New (to me) G37 Owner

Just posting from Dallas to say hello.

Back in the early 90's I had owned a silver 1983 Nissan 280ZX. T-tops, cassette deck.. those funky little beer/ice cooler plastic cubbies in the hatchback. It was one of my favorite cars ever. Then I became practical, as I could barely fit my amp and 2 guitars in this car, I decided to buy a Nissan Sentra. After that I lived in Toyotaland for around 15 years and I am proud to say that I finally have a Z car again. (or a G-car anyway).

3 weeks ago I purchased a Silver Infiniti G37S... smitten is an understatement.

I have no plans for mods, right now, other than having the metal bolsters cut out of the driver's seat so that my hips will no longer be crushed.

Nice to meet everyone!

Chris

Welcome to the site Chris, glad you found us. Sounds like a nice S Sedan you found, post a pic and if you have an old one of that Z that would be cool too

Thanks blnewt,

Seems like an extremely useful forum. My Z-Car was, unfortunately, before the days of digital cameras.. I'll have to dig to try to find some pics. It wasn't the greatest looking car. It had a grey hood because I'm pretty sure it had been wrecked previously. I did a lot of repairs on that car myself. It was a blast to drive and made a great noise. The straight 6 in those Z's were a lot of fun and really did make a nice noise. (Much like the G37.. wonderful sound from under the hood). It wasn't the greatest looking car but I loved it! (I'll dig out some boxes and try to find a picture).

My G37 is stock with the small spoiler.. I've only had it a few weeks and I'm really digging this car.

OKAY!! WHY IS IT WHEN YOU GET A 'NEW' CAR SOMETHING HAS TO HAPPEN TO DING IT IN THE FIRST FEW WEEKS!!

I mean.. it's not a wreck or anything but this morning an 18-wheeler kicked up an f'ing boulder of a rock and it hit the hood and the windshield. nice little inch scratch down to the metal in the hood and a nice chip in the windshield. FFS, It's only been a few weeks!!!

Sounds familiar, our brand new 89 Accord Coupe on our way home from the dealer a truck kicked up a 2x4 that was laying in the road and it dented the front corner of the roof.
Sucks

Hope you get it looking as new ASAP.

I just suffered the same fate, dump truck cut me off and cracked my windshield. Comprehensive insurance here in Florida it’s covered for free they replaced it the next day after calling... big relief
