You have 2008. I have 2011 so not sure if the versions are compatible between model years.

There in lies my confusion. For 2011 it says the 9x maps are installed and the latest. If I put in 2009 it says Infiniti navigation system 10-11. I would think the 2011 would have newer maps but doesn't appear to be. My home address isn't in my nav system. Subdivision has been here 5 years. And to add further insult my neighbor with 2010 Chevrolet Equinox does have our address. I would think newer car and more expensive would be able to match the 2010 Chevrolet nav maps. A bit embarrassing.

I'm surprized that a five year old neighborhood isn't in the nav. When you look at the map screen does it have you located in a feild? Maybe worth a look see to go to the dealer and check out the nav in their most recent arrival. ;-) Might be cause for a comped update? :-)

Yep just shows me in a field. Checked navteq's database and our address is in it as well as our subdivision in their maps. I had started with dealer and they looked at other cars on lot and for the cars they tried they all didn't t have our address in it. My $120 garmin has my address and yet the nav in luxury car doesn't. Still don't understand how older cars have newer maps. Strange.

my 2011 M look like you can do the update with a DVD yourself, well at least there is a menu option for it, possible its for dealers only. I am not paying 2 hours a labor for them to stick a F##g cd in.
