It's even annoying with the screen off/black? You must be really sensitive. What about lowering the display all the way down and then turning it to black, would that help? If not, put a rag covering it!

im not that sensitive but even when its black on a dark highway yes it does bother me.. other makes of cars are able to shut off completely so i don't know why ours cant. is it that hard to design it that way? the button does say OFF does it not??? i have the same issue in my 2010 maxima.. so i guess the answer is no.. i think the loaner 2011 g37x i had was able to shut off completely if i remember right.

i just had a 2011 loaner today - i can't seem to remember correctly, but i'm pretty sure the settings for the navigation were the same. couldn't be completely shut off. i hear you though...same issue here.

on a side note: i noticed that the vdc indicator light on the tach was different...looks cleaner than my 2010 lol

How to turn off nav screen

this will work but you lose clock on your nav screen - but you do have the analog clock as a back-up

1) go to settings, choose clock, then turn on-screen clock to off.
2) now when you press night/off for 4 seconds it will completely shut the lcd screen off
