Interesting possibility...Tom Tom corporate shill pehaps? As far as the "too much time on his hands" goes; the amount of time I still spend lurking here colors me guilty as well. I do multi-task though.
/Also notice the drop off of a lot of the folks that were here 6+ months ago.

///Still a great car, still love to drive it...often like I stole it.

Adding my 2 cents to this beaten to death topic, I opted not to drop $2k on a tech package for I perceive this to be an overpriced option which pads the margins for Nissan corporate.

There are several reasons why I didn't purchase the navi with the car.

1) I rather have a 6-CD unit VS playing MP3s (quasi-audiophile);
2) Where I live, I don't need a navigation since it's a fairly small town (300,000 people). When I do travel, I use my wife's Garmin, so that resolves any travelling issues;
3) Money saved can go towards other more pertinents mods up front;
4) Navigation does necessarily add more 'value' to the car when resale value is concerned;
5) More tech = more things than can break down over time (call me a worry wort).

Now don't get me wrong, it's not horrendous, but I am incredulous on the amount of very young people who somehow acquire this car at a young age. Very lucky. I'm also surprised how the English language has somehow been murdered by texts/instant messaging/blogs and poor grammar in the last 10 years.

On topic -
I pinched the pennies and didn't get the Nav system, for a few reasons:
1) I'm a bit of an audio purist. I buy CDs, and never use my MP3 player. So I needed to keep the 6-disc changer.
2) Later on, I won't bother paying for XM or XM traffic...very little value added for me in my area
3) I'd really like a nav system, but they change often enough that a quality Garmin Nuvi is going to suffice for me (hard wired to reduce clutter of course, and placed in the lower left of the windshield). Planning to order a Nuvi 255w when it comes out in a few weeks.
4) I never use voice recognition features. I feel silly, and I hate talking to computers on the phone for banking and such as it is. Plus, I always drive with the windows down, so I'm not sure how well it would work (not a big reason...but...).
5) Rear view monitor is a nice bell and/or whistle, but not a package-seller for me
This is slightly off-topic but regarding #1... I'm a fan of high quality audio as well. The jukebox in the G37 does not use mp3. It uses ATRAC @ 132k bit rate. Yuck. I've found the best option is the iPod interface -- an 80GB iPod Classic can hold quite a bit of lossless audio, way more than even 6 CDs with absolutely zero quality-loss.

lol. It takes the same amount of time to post it once as it does to post it three times. The only reason you post something is to see what people say about it. Posting it three times just gets three times as many responses!

I think the whole argument that you shouldn't pinch pennies is an ignorant one. I got a G37 because I pinched pennies. I decide what is worth it for every decision; just because I decided I wanted a luxury car it doesn't mean I should buy every luxury possible even if it isn't worth it. It may have been worth it to you, but in that case say you were pinching pennies too, you only bought what was worth it dollar for dollar. I bought a G37 instead of a 335 because I was pinching pennies, I wasn't going to waste a bunch of money on a car that might be a touch faster and is uglier. It's called rational decision making.
