Many of us don't like it but it's the right thing to do. Government regulates a lot of things from speed limits to seat belts etc from safety points of view.
You may be able to decide (or think you can) when it's safe or not but many people can't and won't.

I'm for anything reasonable that makes driving safer and forces people to be more attentive while operating a vehicle.

I wish i could use voice commands in the cockpit as that would prevent further distractions.

In a car.. if you're in such a rush to program navigation while driving (but refuse to issue a voice command because you're too busy talking on the phone) you should prob save some money.. skip the built-in nav units and buy a portable one. I'm not about to program address information via touchscreen while driving.. it's inconsiderate placing everyone around you in danger. Why do you think some states/cities ban cellphone use? Because it's dangerous. why do drivers (like you and me) frown on those who shave/talk on the phone/put on lipstick/comb hair in the rear view mirror while driving? because it's dangerous!

I applaud those car companies/nav manufacturers who disable input when the car is moving.. driving in some cities is dangerous enough.. why add fuel to the fire! Cars these days offer a false sense of security. You may not die in a wreck.. but those w/out all the airbags, vdc etc.. are out-of-luck when you come flying around the corner looking for a burger king on the nav. You have a dangerous attitude if you think driving and focusing on a screen is safe.
Agreed 100%!

The thing is, your decision affects the safety of other drivers on the road.

But what I find really funny here, is that you start a thread claiming the Navigation on the G37 sucks, but after reading your posts here, you really have no idea how it works or what it's features are. How can you say it sucks when you don't know anything about it?

100% right about the safety.

I think we all know the answer to your question.

My thought is, if you are that unhappy with it either get rid of the car or dont use the navi. I dont understand what the aruging is all about. Maybe you should have tried the Navi before you paid money for it.

I can't remember exactly what test, but I remember there were like 2 different tests done. One had the mustang shelby, tl-s, g35 sedan, and the IS350. The TL-S beat them all.

Where's the touch screen that Acura/Honda have been doing for 3 or 4 years now?

Are they going to be doing voice activation for the navi?

A huge improvement I noticed is that they combined all the in cabin info onto the screen like they did on the murano and the FX/QX/and others (it's about f'in time). They've also got a much better input device than that piece of $hit miniature joystick that only a 5 year old child could have small enough hands to use.
I am still wondering what is the point of this original post?

Your complaining about things that don't even exist in production anymore.

That is like someone complaining now about how the first gen TL, first gen RL, and Vigor were major flops!

So you think the people at Nissan/Infiniti are idiots for not allowing you to do what you want to the nav-system while the car is moving.

Easy solution, don't buy their cars. Simple as that. They have plenty of buyers already.

so what if they complain? half of you people are complaing about the sports bumper on the g37, half of you are still complaining about how the concept looks 10x better then the g37.

why complain? cause its true.

I agree - people should be able to freely complain.

I just find it funny that the complaints were at first about things that the NAV already addressed (So, that should have relieved his complaints). Then it seemed to morph into a discussion about inputting while driving. Voice commands is the solution to that - but I guess it is still "limiting" if you insist on typing.

I know the 335 allows you to input while driving but how many people here would rather have the Infiniti NAV system (with its driving restriction) versus the last generation interface, graphics, and speed of the BMW system?

The first post was complaining about things that don't exist anymore, re-read the original post.

People are allowed to complain all they want.

While some of the people on this site will be complaining about this-and-that, others here will be enjoying their new G35's and G37's.
