hmmmmm... Q50 run flat tires

I'm wondering since the Q50 is using run flats does that mean that there is no spare in the trunk and that's part of how they achieved that larger trunk space?

They also are using the single horizontally mounted canister like the current coupe for the exhaust.

I would guess that eliminating the spare is how they added so much trunk space. I was wondering how they managed it. I hadn't thought about the run flats.

Yes, making room for batteries in the hybrid. Hopefully they'll include a repair kit like they used to have in the convertible (and currently have in the IPL vert).

I know they have made progress with the modern day run flats, but between those and the steer by wire, I really hope the Q hasn't lost the G's great road feel. Here's an article on the new steering in Car and Driver. Starts off positive and ends with some doubt.

Can't wait until this car hits the lots.

No 6mt is already a deal breaker for me, so RFT adds insult to injury. Perhaps the non-hybrid will come with standard tires since it doesn't need the trunk space for battery packs? All vehicles should come with some sort of spare tire, be it a mini or full-size spare.

It looks like I will be forced to leave the Infiniti family once I sell my g37. 6mt sedan is a must so I'll see what's on the market in 2-3 years when I go to sell. The trick with BMWs is that a lot of them, if not all, come with RFT. Does anyone know if they have room for a spare under the trunk?

No room for a spare in a bmw. The best u can do is a tire tote, there is just a storage area under the trunk carpet, not big enough for a spare. My wife drives the g37 i drive a 328xi, i hate run flats i put regular tires on it and put a can of fix a flat and air compressor in the trunk, just rolling the dice
