Stock Wheels and Akebonos?

Does anyone know if the stock wheels that come with the 2011 X coupe can clear the Akebono calipers? I am talking about the 18 inch ten spoke wheel. Thanks

Bumping this to the top because I'm interested in this as well. My guess is that they won't clear the Akebonos, but it will probably just barely not make it. So, my guess is we would need 5mm or maybe 10mm spacers to make the wheels fit.

I'm close to buying a used set of these wheels as my winter set up. If I buy them, I'll test fit and report back.

You need 18s to clear it.

The wheels we are talking about are the OEM 18" wheels that come on the 2012 coupe. Yes, we need 18s as 17s won't fit. But, not all 18" wheels have the right offset of the right clearance for the spokes to not hit the calipers. That's what we are looking for confirmation.

Anyhow, I went ahead and bought the OEM 18" coupe wheels. I'll be picking them up later this month and will do a test-fit and report back with the findings.

Hey guys. I did buy the wheels. No pics yet. I did a quick test fit of the rim and they BARELY clear. It's maybe 2mm clearance. But they do clear. I did NOT drive on them because I don't have tires mounted yet. I'll post again after I get tires mounted and have gone out for a drive.

I may get 5mm spacers just to be safe. Or maybe just run 10mm spacers all around all year long for a little more aggressive stance :-)

So - another update here on these 18" coupe wheels.

I ordered some spacers, installed them and had major steering wheel vibrations. I installed them and torqued them down properly - twice. And that didn't help. They are being returned as I think they might be defective.

So, long story short, I put the 18" coupe wheels on the front - no spacers. Went out for a test drive. And, even though the space between the wheel and caliper is very minimal, there was not any damage to the caliper.

Despite there being no damage during my test-drive, I'm still nervous about the minimal clearance between the wheel and the brake caliper.

Do you mind if ask what brand the spacers were? Would be a good idea to help steer people away from them

They were Ichiba V2 15mm spacers. I talked to Ichiba customer service and without me even asking they sent me out new spacers. I haven't had a chance to install them yet and see if the replacements work.
