Need info on TMPS's

My rear wheel TPMS stem broke off while switching from my winter to summer tires, can i just purchase any infiniti TPMS have it installed at the tire shop? or does it have to be programmed? Due to the fact infiniti is giving me a hard time just to have the damn thing replaced.

Yes, you can pick up any g37 sensors but will need to be reprogrammed. Also, whoever broked it should replace it for you for free

Also need to check what year your car is. If it was made march of 2010 or later it will require the the version of the TPMS sensor and if made before 03/2010 then the older version.

Did you break it or did the tire shop break it? If it was the tire shop, make them pay for the new sensor and associated programming.

Well the tire shop tech warned me about it before proceeding to remove the tire, I had a metal/steel type of air valve cover on the stem and he turned it and it broke, basically leaving the valve stem shorter than normal.

What, the metal cap was corroded onto the valve stem? He could have put some penetrating oil on it instead of twisting it until it broke. BTW, it takes a good amount of twist to break a valve stem like that. I'd still make an issue of it just because the guy was an idiot. There's no reason to break a valve stem like that, especially when it's part of an expensive sensor.

Use existing sensors = do not need to reprogram. Buy new sensors = needs to be programmed into the computer via your dealer.

No, you'll have to get the sensors programmed to your particular car even if you install used sensors.
