In any case, my stock Goodyears have dry-rot on them, and so consequently I need new tires. I'm in Colorado where we get a lot of snow, so it would need to be an all-season tire but one that handles well, too....any recommendations on a performance all-season tire? The Infiniti dealer kept recommending some brands I haven't heard of too much like Kumho and Continental. I'm assuming Michelins are the best brand for performance all-season?
Yeah, you want a better tire than those Horrendous GS-Rs, you can go to the wider 245/50/17s without any issues as far as rubbing or AWD compatibility.

If I were you I'd consider using your 17" wheels for a winter set and find some new 18" wheels w/ summer tires for the rest of the year. At least you can unleash the Gs true potential for the majority of the time you're driving it.
If you want to visit that plan I can help w/ wheel/tire combos.

Then you could just get some Blizzaks or something similar for winter.

Just my 2cs.

Haha, I might have low standards for tires then. Maybe it's the car's handling I'm feeling more than the tires themselves.

I appreciate the advice on the different set for winter vs summer, but I did that for 7 years on my RWD BMW I had, and I'm kinda tired of the hassle. Not to mention when I would put off switching the summers (Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions) back to my Blizzaks in time, it got very scary trying to drive 20 miles to work on summer tires during an icy blizzard.

With the Infiniti I just want an all-year-round tire that has the best steering feel/response and handling that's still worth a damn in the snow and ice. That probably rules out ultra high performance all-season, but probably high performance all-season is the way to go. Out of those, at least on tirerack it says the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3s have the best steering response. Any experience with those? Thanks for your help in any case.

Do the 19" coupe wheels only come staggered? I was hoping to put them on a 2012 G37x but have read mixed comments due to the AWD and am not fully clear on what tire sizes I would need. I am retaining the stock suspension.

You might send a PM to Toxic, I think he may be having a square set of coupe 19s up for sale soon. Or post a WTB (Want to buy) thread in the classifieds and post "WTB square coupe 19 setup"
Otherwise, yes, all the coupe 19 sets are staggered.

Sorry I'm new to this but want to upgrade my 18 inch wheels to 19 inch and wondering about the offsets as well. I'm still a little confused on this despite reading the posts. Does the 43 offset for front and 45 offset for rear also apply to the awd coupe as well as non awd model. I have the awd. Secondly does this offset assume I'm running a 8.5 front width and a 9 inch rear width or does it also apply if I use all four wheels at the same width?

If you plan on going to 19" wheels that are not factory Infiniti wheels you can run more aggressive offsets that will fill your wheel wells a bit better. And if you have AWD running a square (all wheels & tires the same size) is the easiest plan. If you want to run a staggered setup the wheel widths would be better if they were more than a 1/2" spread. Usually something like a 8.5 front 10" rear is a preferred setup for staggered. You also must use very specific tire sizes when going that route.

Those +43 and +45 offsets are the general range for all G37 wheels (RWD & AWD) except the convertible, those are in the +35 range.

Thanks so much for getting back to me on this blnewt. I like the idea of keeping it simple by using the same wheels and tires all around (square) so to make it even more practical for the sake of being able to rotate wheels from front to back would there be an optimal offset that I could use on all four wheels so that I can rotate front to back without causing any issues in terms of handling or appearance (ie. 44 offset for all four). For my clarification does a higher offset mean the wheel will be further away from the middle of the car or would it be closer the middle (please excuse my naive, still learning about all this). I am also curious as to whether rotating front to back with throw off my TPMS. Thanks in advance.

No problem
Use this calculator any time you want to try new wheel & tire setups
https://www.myg37.com/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php
Here's a link to OEM coupe wheel info
2008 through 2013 Infiniti G37 Coupe Rim and Tire Specifications, weight, offset and information
Just enter your current wheel & tire info on the "current" line and the new size on the "new" line and see what effect offset and tire sizes have on the overall fit.

For an AWD coupe on stock suspension I'd shoot for a 9" wide +35 offset running 245/40/19 tires. This will push your tires about 5/8" closer to the fender edge but not too close. If you lower your suspension you can go further out (a less positive offset).
If you need further help just shoot a PM.

So another couple of quick questions based on your above suggestion. I assume you are suggesting 9" rims on all 4 wheels. I looked on Tire Rack and it appears there are very limited 9 inch rims and they are only on the 20" rim size, not the 19 inch rim size so is there somewhere else you would recommend me look for descent rim prices in this size. Secondly your suggestion of 245/40/19 is slightly less than the OEM size so this would throw off my speedometer slightly. Is there a reason you were suggesting this size and not the OEM 245/45/19 size which would likely fit on the more standard 8.5 inch rims which are much easier to find. If I go with this OEM size and rim can I get your recommendation for what offset I should go with if I'm doing all four wheels the same for the sake of easier rotations. I realize this is all very basic to you but I appreciate your advise before I spend close to 2000 bucks on new wheels. Thank in advance!

Kevin, not sure if you mentioned but do you have AWD coupe or sedan? I assumed a coupe since the base X coupe has 18" wheels and the base X sedan has 17" wheels. That said, if you have a coupe your 18" tires should be 225/50/18s, if that's the case the 245/40/19s will be just slightly smaller in rolling diameter (0.53% smaller), the 245/45/19s would be much taller (almost 3% taller).

Here's some decent wheel choices for style & budget
SPORT SERIES Wheels - Niche Wheels
Just one example in a 19x8.5 +35 and I'd run 245/40/19s all around
Verona - M149 - Niche Wheels
Here's a good vendor for Niche wheels, ask for Andrew & mention myG37.com for best deals

Yes I have the coupe awd and my present tires are 225/50/18s as you indicated. I think I will go with the 19 x 8.5 to open up my choices and I like your idea of 245/40/19s at 35 offset all around. I appreciate you providing some rim options to broaden my choice. The tire size you are suggesting is OK on the 8.5 wide rims right as in I don't need the 9 inch rims?? So I am assuming that will also give me a slightly wider tire than what I have on now from those numbers and a slightly wider stance. I don't plan to lower the car. I'm thinking Michelin Sport A/S 3 for most of the year and then throw some Blizzak LM-32 for winter performance onto my old 18" rims and I should be good. Thanks again for all the info.

Yes, those tires are a standard mount on an 8.5" rim. Your current wheels are about 8mm tucked in from the +35s I mentioned so your new wheel will be 8mm further out and your tire edge will be another 1/2" wider so expect about a 1/2" closer to the fender overall, still room to go out but at stock height you don't want to get too aggressive w/ offsets.

I looked through the thread, which seems to get a bit off topic, and I couldn't find any info about awd sport models xS. This info should be in the first post.

What are the stock xS wheel and tire sizes, and what are common/popular alternative tire sizes?

Should be all front G37S coupe wheels (19x8.5 +43), I tried checking around and didn't get a definitive answer but IIRC that's it.
If anyone can confirm for sure let us know and I will update first page w/ that info.
