I'll be in Jersey that weekend, Neptune to be exact.

Hey Val - In the second posting of this thread is a listing for the nearest campground. It's the next park over. Very close. I'm going to go through Priceline for a hotel/motel. There are many options. Some are cozy resorts, others are full-blown casino affairs.

The Poconos are a very popular summer vacation destination.

And yes, it's about 4 hours for us. I'd be interested in joining a group cruise.

Scranton and Wilkes-Barre are both nearby. I'm sure there's a $100/night Econo-Lodge or Microtel or whatever. As August gets closer, figure people to start coordinating lodging.

Sean/Rochester. I did see the many options, I just didn't know if there was a specific place everyone may be going to afterwards. Wasn't sure if this was a smaller ZDayz event where they all cruise and then camp/cabin for several nights or if it's just a bbq during the day. A bonfire/campground full of G's sounds a bit more fun compared to a microtel lol.

I think I'm going to bring my 12 year old with me. She's the only one between my wife & kids who doesn't tune me out when I start talking about cars.

Funny. I'm bringing my wife...she'll tune me out before we cross the border but pretend she cares about suspension setup and driving dynamics the whole way there.

My 14 y/o son and my 16 y/o daughter are coming. He's really into it. She just wants to get away from her mom....LOL. We'll see if she actually makes the trip, she did last year.

I booked a room at Nichols Village Hotel & Spa in Clark's Summit. Sounds fancy, but it's not. $100 on Priceline. They had a room for $70, I think, but a little cramped for our usage.

Is there a consensus on bringing pets? I have a 25 lb dog made of pure magic who loves road trips. If she needs to stay home though, no problem since my relatives can dogsit her anytime.

I don't have an issue with pets. This meet leans toward the family-friendly and pets are certainly family. Sometimes, in my case particularly, family are pets...LOL

Anyhow, I updated the original post with this link detailing pets in PA parks.

Bottom line: they're fine.

Idk about Long Island but there's already 3 of us from NJ, and my buddy ( doublea88) from Brooklyn will be coming as well , then Pedro from Mt. Vernon and maybe few other people as well so we could definitely meet up somewhere in NJ once you cross the Goethals bridge I figure.
