Arrow G37 Meet-up August 6, 2016

Hi myG37.com members!!!

This year's meet is going forum-wide. In the past we had just done sedans or regional type events. This one is for everyone. Coupes, 'Verts and Sedans with members from anywhere and everywhere.

This year we're returning to the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Pennsylvania region as it's a relative mid-point between Upstate NY, NYC/Jersey and the members making the effort to come in from TN, KY, MD, VA and everywhere else.

DATE:

08/06/2016

LOCATION:

Gouldsboro State Park

SR 507 & State Park Rd
Gouldsboro, PA 18424

There is only one pavilion there and it's ours.

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepar...boro/index.htm

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gouldsboro_State_Park

In case you were wondering, Gouldsboro State Park is named for Gouldsboro, which was in turn named for Jay Gould (1836 - 1892). Gould, a native of New York, acquired an immense fortune during the Industrial Revolution, part of which included ownership of ten percent of all the rail tracks in the United States at the time of his death. So there's that.

SCHEDULE:

1:00 PM until ? - Park Closes at 8:00 PM

As it was done in the past: We'll meet up between 1:00 and 2:00 in the Park. That gives us all afternoon to hang out, take pictures, drive around, etc. For many members, that means leaving from home at a reasonable morning hour.

GUIDELINES:

Pennsylvania State Parks do not allow alcohol. We're all responsible adults so we needn't explore the specifics of conduct.

Pets:

Accommodations:

This park is in the Poconos Mountains. There are countless resorts, hotels, motels, dumpsters available for lodging. I suggest booking early as this is a very popular summer destination. Priceline.com has produced great results in the past.

Nearby Tobyhanna State Park has nice camping facilities:

My daughter will be attending Lehigh in the fall so I guess this is a good excuse to go to PA and do some scouting.

And, I am showing up topless - first Vert in!

That's about 7hrs for me, providing light traffic. I'll need to schedule a Jersey family visit around this!

If I can sit in traffic for 2 hours to go 40 miles, I should be able to sit for 6 hours to go 350. Penciling it in... hopefully work won't get in the way.

This was the same location we used two years ago, at the first Sedan Meetup.

Good times, then. Should be more so this time around with Coupes and Verts.
